Well, I think I've identified my next piece of merchandise! It's the singing stubby holder for me this father's day!!

It is a rather obsessive tune - the girls walk around the house screaming it & that's me stuck with the tune for the rest of the day. Nice change from Dora the Explorer tho...

I scored my copy of the 2003 AFL Theme Songs from Eirinn, and she managed to find it in a sale bin at a shop for $1.95! Yeah!

So now on the way to games, we start with either Hunters and Collectors 'Holy Grail' or 'Cheer Cheer' (depending on the vibes), then on to 'One Day in September', 'Up There Cazaly etc then back to the theme songs of the Swans and their opposition as we are almost ready to park.

There's nothing better than finding people to sing along with you when stuck on Cleveland Street... talk about sharing the love!

Big fans of the banjo solo! You can always find us dancing and air-banjoing ourselves away, standing on the seats after the match in glorious Bay 28.

But PS: Was watching the 2003 DVD last week -- and when we kicked Port at Port in the finals, they played a different version of 'Cheer Cheer'. So is the banjo solo the new one?
And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

It's just called AFL club songs. But there's an Allans music store in melbourne as well. On Bourke St. Hopefully they'd stock it.

Ta, I don't get into the city much these days, but I'll be sure to check it out next time.

              Online Store is sold out.

I got a copy of an old South Melbourne version from Cher a while back, and it is INDENTICAL to the banjo version. So close in fact that I reckon they have simply dug out the old tapes, dubbed "Swans" over "South" and re-released it

I'd guess that the other version that they have is probably newer. The SCG used it from when I started going to games (97) but they swapped over to the banjo probably 3 years ago? Other grounds have various versions (hence AAMI Stadium having that version at the final in 2003)

All 3 versions on the "Swans Songs" CD really, honestly, truly and thoroughly suck. The melody has been changed a bit, and a couple of the words too.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

But there you go - take this "sucky" song, channel it thru a teddy's tummy (or indeed a no doubt resplendent stubby holder) and all of sudden you've got the sporting equivalent of "Blowin' in the Wind" on your hands.

That's probably why it sounds like they're getting it wrong: they say both 'Souths' and 'Swans' at the same time.

But anything is better than Freo's! And we don't say 'PREEEEEEEEmiership' like the Bombers, and the PREMiership is not a cakewalk, you darn Pies!
