    Big Boys

well we are in the poo with big blokes falling like dogs droppings after a curry puff. The Schaulble out the exit with Doyle and Meickeljohn not there yet.Jason Ball was terrific and worked impressively to allow 'the gun'Adam to play a great game.
BUT, more big boy injuries and we are shot ducks , the back line is weak now as Leaping Leo's timing for the big leaps is sooooo out and his hesitant disposal is cringe material.Warfe just lacks guts (watch the bugger make a pretend attempt to spoil Nietz...sad)Saddo tries but the body is still a ballet dancers,Bolton is great but cannot forever be mis manned to giants.....
which brings me back to big boys......bloody Greg Stafford!!Certainly enjoying his footy for the revolting Tigers....3 goals and a lot of possies.....I don't want him back but maybe we need a stalker on some of our players.

Well, a couple years ago we could afford to let Staff go... But pure bad luck has left us uhh.. "short" this year. I don't know whether you'd call the Mott issue luck or what.. They took a punt at the time with the hope that Doyle would stay fit.

You reckon we might target ruckmen in the draft at the end of the year?

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

It's starting to become a worry, no doubt about. Our primary defenders next week to take on Rocca, Tarrant and Fraser are going to be Barry, Saddington and Bolton. Ouch!
      We hate Anthony Rocca
      We hate Shannon Grant too
      We hate scumbag Gaspar

Seeing that we were undermanned in defence, we should give the defence players some credit. I thought they were great considering they were without Schauble and then Bolton. I thought Leo's spoils were fantastic (he was not trying to take the mark - have a look at the reply - he was punching it away). I thought Saddo did well as did Tadgh. Give them a break!! I really rate Leo's work in the backline; he creates a lot of run and is strong. It is a shame that he seems to go unnoticed a lot or is continually bagged by so-called supporters.

If LB can force himself to go on with it, he would be even better - at times he seems indecisive and unsure of his options. I think our backline can match a lot of teams, but we will struggle to contain the big, dominant forward - Neitz, Lynch, Tredrea etc. We're also vulnerable to ruckmen resting at full-forward because we lack height in the back.

As always, the key is in the midfield. If they fire, the defence's job is that much easier. If pin-point passes are flying into the opposition's forwards' chests, the best defenders will look slow and stupid.

The sunday footy show said that they should both be right for this week.Which means its not as bad as first thought,or the swans are doing there usual tricks and saying players will play but withdraw them at the last minute, then put down to return in 1 week for the next 6 weeks, lol

I said three to six weeks basically because that's standard for a hamstring injury.
