Where in Sydney are people going to watch the game? AFL Club?

Apart from the lucky few who are reading this at an internet cafe in Adelaide, where is everyone planning on watching the game?

I haven't seen an away game at the AFL club at the cross. But lots of TVs and cheap beer so could be okay. What do others think?

The Alexandria Hotel is a better 'Swans friendly' venue, but each to their own.

True - but I've never been there when we won so I'm staying away.

I will be "watching" this game at Gosford Stadium.

If you watching you mean listening to it on MMM while watching Sydney FC beat the Central Goat Marinators.

How do you marinate a goat? Lots of oregano I bet.

But wouldn't it be easier to pick one on the outside?

It's the second quarter showdown after Little Schneider left Erin's 21st at about 9pm last week! S O F T! We'll be at the Aussie Rules Club kicking off about 6:30-- cheap dinner and alcohol. A must for a poor student such as myself!

Last I heard, Provost was also going to join us. I shall be bringing along my former neighbour who I met at the ARC aftermatch last week... talk about it being a small world!

But the ARC is much better than PJ O'Brien's. We watched the Dees match at PJ's and they put us out the back room with no sound..... sheesh! Plus, at the ARC, there's nothing I like better than shouting at the screen with a bunch of other people who also like shouting at the screen...

                  Yeah I'll be there

I like the Alex but its the ARC for me now. They have lifted their game this year and its nice to be able to sit down and not be struggleing to listen over the ambient noise from the Saturday night crowd at the Alexandria Hotel.

Hey Tuesday are you sure your not going to PJ's again to watch the game? They had a great set-up there last time

I'll be doing the whole "drive home in record time" thing to get back from work in time to catch the second half...hopefully...and no, I won't have internet or even radio access at work

But yes, I like the ARC too - went there to watch the Melbourne game, plenty of screens, good atmosphere.

Nope, not unless they pay me and have MMM over the sound system! I confirmed with them (twice!) and they assured me it weas going to be on the big screen. When we got there, the 'showdown' was the Bunnies v Cowboys, so we got the consolatory plasma out the back with people who had a habit of standing in front so we missed most of the final quarter. Tear! But managed to find some good conversation from three quarter time!

Couldn't agree more. At the Sydney Aussie Rules Club you get people who DELIBERATELY go upstairs to watch the game on the screen. Those who want to sit and chat stay downstairs or in the pokie area. At the Alex they may well watch, but it is often because they just happen to be there with friends in any case. Remember too that the screen is outside and in the cold at the Alex.

I was really really impressed with the Sydney ARC on Sunday night. It was clean, had a replay of the game, had a very funny players' panel up on stage hosted by Matthew Nicks, and even had waiters coming around serving little party pies and spring rolls. Was realy pleasant, even if the Melbourne gang had to keep borrowing my drinks discount card.

We have a club that is OURS now. Get behind it, and grow with it. It IS worth sticking with.

                            Jules,

Aren't you in Adelaide? Don't you have more important things to worry about - like pie floaters and staying away from abandoned banks?

The chicken parma was pretty darn good! Though, from memory, it is $12.50
