Now with the Pussies losing, this game has really become an even bigger game to get us some nice leverage over the teams below us with better percentages (Aints + Pretending Pussies)

And next week will be far from a gimme - Essendon are hot and cold, but with it being Lucas 200th next week, and him on fire, it's just as big a danger game as any over the past few weeks.

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Not quite but close. It's a matter of whether the boys can mainatin the pace for 7 more weeks.

Pessimistically, Essendon winning tonight holds the Cats behind us and gives us at least another week in the top 4. Optimistically, we can get two games clear of Geelong.

Geelong yes, but not St Kilda. With our % we won't remain in top 4 for very long.

You get the feeling even a top 4 will be hard if we lose tonight. I am quietly confident however.

Essendon's problem has been stringing two wins together - that is a good sign for us next week!

Presuming the Sainst beat the Dees. They haven't beaten anyone good yet in their recent resurgence, the Dees are desperate and we well know they can play good footy. I've tipped the Dees. If it was the Swans that had had wins against the same teams we'd be described as classic pretenders. (And I wanted to pick the Dons but thought they had let my tipping down even more than the Cats this year so didn't. )

You should've tipped the Demons. Dees are gone and I was correct about the Saints. I wouldn't be suprised if they become Flag short favourites after West Coast.

The Saints are looking pretty decent considering their injuries.

Reckon I shouldn't have picked the Dees! I thought they might have some pride but it looks like there are only about 12 Demon players on the field at one time (and 24 Saints). Geez they'd be dispiriting to support.

Or the Saints are making them look as ordinary as we did against the Saints. But the Dees are being completely unaccountable and can't take easy marks to save their lives. I've come back to the computer.

Sainst look like West Coast - fast, very slick and sure. Overpossess but no errors so no problem.

The way I see it at the moment there are three levels of teams in contention for the flag:

                              1. The main contenders: West Coast & St Kilda

                              2. The genuine threats: Adelaide, Brisbane and the mighty Swans

                              3. The pretenders: Melbourne, Geelong, Kangaroos, Port Adelaide, Richmond.
