    Half empty or half full...

Some people may say that our forwards, collectively, had a shocker. They may point to the fact that we were inside the 50's twice more than Crows during the last quarter. Some would be encouraged by our fightback despite the greasy and tough condition...

But i am not happy with tonight. Our skill level (lack of) was again poor under pressure. I would have accepted the loss IF we even looked like winning. We can't seem to attack once we go ultra-defensive mode.

You can't believe if you let those negative feelings overtake you... just wait until the positive police find you!

If it helps you sleep tonight, we may have had double the inside 50's, but we also had more than double the score as well.

I did not expect to win in Adelaide. Of the four tough games we have just played it is the only game I did not expect us to win. We lost by seven points. Given our history in Adelaide, I expected us to lose by more.

Let's look on the bright side. We only lost by seven points, so our fragile percentage was not harmed much. We may need it, because our rivals for a top four spot - the Kangaroos - actually have a worse percentage. With a bit of luck we will win our remaining games against Essendon (A), Brisbane (H), Kangaroos (H) and Hawthorn (A). The toughest games are at home which will help our cause.

Our most likely finishing position is fourth, provided we beat the Kangaroos in round 21. We could finish third if the Saints drop a game, and fifth if we lose to the Kangaroos. Despite the bizarre season this has turned out to be, with us scoring four points more than the Hawks over the course of the season, we are still a good chance to make it to another preliminary final. (We will probably meet the Kangaroos in a semi-final). That would make this season as good as 2003.
