Moore vs Malceski vs other Fringe players

I was puzzled how Moore came in before Malceski, given the game was played at footy park, I thought this would have been a great time for Malceski to have a run on the big ground.

Does the timing of this move (close to finals) indicate Malceski's rating against the other players, is Moore rated higher or is it a case that Moore was bought in to play a defensive role on a Johncock etc?

Is it time the Swans started to settle the side and make a decision on McVeigh, Moore, Malceski, Schneider.

Does Saddington or Schauble fit into the mix before Sep? I would like to see Saddington on the bench as he gives Roos a few options.

With Fosdike back it would appear their is only room for 1 of these players? and shouldnt we use the next few weeks to give them maximum game time in preperation for the finals,.

What do you guys think continue the rotation of the fringe players, maybe as a horses for courses?

    or

Settle on who will play in the finals

I've been quite happy with how Roos has managed the young guys this year, rotating each of them through the seniors for a few games at a time before going back to the ressies for more game time. While it may have meant that none of them have established themselves in the team, it at least means that we have extra afl-ready backups for when any injuries hit.

Couldn't Roos have given more youngsters a go?
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

I would say it was because we were expecting a tight match - the Crows play a lot like us. So, Moore would have been more useful as an in & under type. Malceski is better as a receiver in my opinion.

Overall I agree with Sharpie - I'm happy enough with what Roos is doing. As he said a couple of years ago, he needed to develop players whilst still making the finals and putting together a side that can challenge for a flag. He's pretty much doing that. We can't throw a whole bunch of kids in all at once so rotating them is the best option. All 4 new players from this season look good and the experience that they are getting will help them in the future.

The principle of giving them a taste is right except that none of them are getting the chance to settle down. The biggest problem with McVeigh is that he's meant to have a super motor but is used as an impact player which is a role suited to pinch hitters who can kick goals or take marks or be match-breaking. You'd hope they're being told the right things re. why they are continually chopped and changed out of the side and on and off the field.

Of all the young players tried this year, I think Malceski has the biggest future and would like to see him settle into the side next year.
The others have been exposed to big games which will help during the finals.

Roosy stated that he chose Saturday nights bench players..Vogels,Moore,Schneider and Dempster cause he wanted them to get a finals type of experience and he knew Saturday night was going to be a sell out and a high pressure game which it was.I think he is looking to the future here.

Either that or Malceski's knee boo-boo injury against WC was more significant than advertised, and could do with a rest. The kids had a knee reconstruction after all.

I think that is the case. You wouldn't want to risk him to another long term injury. Smart mangement from the coaching staff.
