    Swans wary of depleted Essendon

When Sydney run out to face Essendon on Saturday night, their opponents will be missing three players from the side that beat Geelong last week. So naturally, when asked whether they thought the Bombers' injury woes would play into the Swans' hands, Adam Goodes and Michael O'Loughlin put on their diplomats' hats and made all the right noises about how even this year's competition has been.

We should always be wary of Essendon, especially in Melbourne.

Good to see they back themselves to play finals footy on demand. Exactly the right attitude IMO.

The Dons may be a power in decline but still represent a real threat. An extremely skillful strong marking forward - Lucas, a wonderful captain, rat cunning coach, B grade actor at FF and the in-house ump. O please god not goldspink, not this week??
