I'm not grateful to a club that can make me feel unimportant when I spend a lot of money and time supporting it.

Mountains and molehills some may say? It's all about equality. We booked our tickets day 2 after Old Roy Boy advised he'd reserved a table day 1. How are we any more or less important than the person who booked the day they decided to close the function to further bookings?

First in best dressed? No we made the mistake of mentioning RWO, who obviously the club regard as a joke or a group of people who don't count or can easily be pushed aside.

I paid with the intention of being part of the night and actually being in the room and watching the proceedings directly and not via a bloody tv screen.

I believe it's unfair. I too am interested in finding out how they decided which tables to bump.

I was going to be selfish, but I'll come clean: I am one of the unbumped ones. When we heard about the bumping, we called the club to see if we going to be in that new area. We're not. No idea why- a couple of theories, but nothing concrete.

I too think it's terrible, and not at all fair. While the selfish part of me (and, let me tell you, that's a pretty big part ) revels in the fact I wasn't moved, I think it's appalling that some of you were.

Hopefully this all gets resolved in a way that keeps everyone happy. At the moment, that really doesn't seem likely.

BAM BAM is totally right - and we have written to the club and put our points forward - remains to be seen if anything is done to rectify the problem - but at least we have tried.
But then we are at an age where we just wont take that crap - we are not afraid to tell the club that we are majorly p*ssed off!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I wasn't surprised that there are so many people wanting to go to this years B&F. I mean the team is going to another finals.

As for the seating allocations. I too received a call from Amanda telling me that my seating allocation was within the Ballroom. I also discoverd that people that I know were seated somewhere else, where the screen was.

So I made a quick descision to be moved where my friends were seated. I didn't care where it was. If you're with people that you know. It is so much fun.

I go to the Gala for the atmosphere and to celebrate a good season together with the people that I know that follows the same team as I do.

Now if seating allocations or whatever has given you some disappointment then I think it is better you stay home cause you will never enjoy a good night out like that.

James, we're still going to attend the night as we too are sitting with friends and will make a great night of it, as we would have anyway. We're just annoyed that after having booked tickets in good faith on the first and second days, that we're now being told for some reason we are being moved aside for others who seem to be deemed more worthy.

That's what it's all about. It may seem sour grapes, but we thought that by booking as early as possible we would be given a decent seat. I don't need to rub shoulders with the players. Last year we actually had a great time without approaching players. In fact we actually had some of the younger guys approach us to say hello and thank us for supporting the team.

It's just so very annoying that we have been chosen for whatever reason to be moved aside, when others on here (no offence Erin) haven't. As I said earlier what was the criteria? If the club is going to do something like this, why choose the people who had put their names down on the first and second day?

It really has left a bad taste in my mouth. I've had many disputes with family and friends over attending games instead of their functions (my choice yes I know). To a degree I'm now left wondering why I bothered.

I will continue to support the club, but I'm just sad that it's come to this after such a great year.

Has anyone heard back from people they've written to?

It strikes me as somewhat shifty that a RWO table that booked so early was moved when others that booked later (and didn't mention RWO) weren't.

Well, those of us who wrote in complaint received personal phone calls of apology from Myles Baron-Hay today. My understanding of his explanation follows:

The 700 approx capacity Hilton was booked as it was capable of holding the number who attended in any of the last three years. This year virtually all the sponsors took up the seating numbers they are guaranteed as part of their sponsorships ? but after the response date given them by the club. The same thing happened with the player?s relatives. Meanwhile, events apparently kept on taking bookings under the assumption of the same % acceptance of last year. The end result was over 900 confirmed bookings.

A board meeting yesterday addressed the issue. The board was most displeased that the club had created a situation diametrically opposed to one of its aims ? that being that regular members should not be shafted in favour of sponsors.

The club tried yesterday to secure Darling Harbour, but it was already taken. They also looked at the Hordern Pavilion, but gave it a miss a/c catering problems. Myles said that in future events of this nature will be held at Darling Harbour or a similar capacity venue in order to avoid the situation happening again.

Myles was very apologetic, and seemed sincere, I still ventured that the club should have told the late confirming sponsors to sling their hooks, guarantees or not.

By way of compensation, we the displaced are now having pre dinner cocktails with the players and the coaching group separate from the main crowd.. So if Messrs Hall and O?Keefe are looking a bit second hand when they take their seats it will be because Wardy and Bam Bam have already gotten to them.

Thats what I was thinking as I read ORB's post.

It is terrible for the die hard supporters, but it is good that sponsors are taking a keen interest. (or the ppl attending as guests of the sponsors are just in it for the free booze up)

A good result - Myles was very apologetic and it was worth putting our point forward to ensure that something like this never happens again at future events

Very impressed that Myles phoned rather than doing the return email which proved that they were intent on making amends.

And I promise that I will be gentle with Barry when I have my cocktail audience with him, honest - I will be on my best behaviour!!!!

While the situation should never have arisen, it sounds like the club have taken it very seriously and are doing what they can to show the shafted people that they do recognise the situation is unacceptable.

From all I've heard about MBH, it comes as no surprise at all that he personally called displaced attendees to offer his apologies.

                              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Tat sound like a suitable compromise to me - while I am still disappointed I am no longer angry

                                Well done to MBH.

I am very surprised that that even considered changing the venue at such short notice - that would really be a major exercise.

I wonder what they'll do if the the GF is a draw and needs to be replayed? Won't happen though - we'll win easily.
