    Day after the Night Before

There was a lot of talk a while back because this game was meant to be on Saturday night but a double booking meant the AFL had to move the game to Sunday afternoon.

How will the ground hold up?

A much maligned place such as the Telstra Dome seems to have no problem with a Saturday night game followed by one the next day.

There will most likely be rugby markings all over the field but apart from not looking nice that shouldn't affect anything.

As long as the turf is ok - the weekend should be superb.

Carlton-Collingwood and Showdown on Saturday night. Third Test match as well plus obviously the Tri-Nations game.

With the main event to take place on Sunday afternoon.

I expect the ground to be chopped up a bit because of all the pushing and driving in scrummaging and rucking. Has to be some damage on the wings caused by the stands rolling out and in.
Guess this is why the magoos got switched. The ground will look bad because all the rugby lines, sponsorship logos etc have to be painted out overnight and replaced with AFL markings plus the Toyota rubbish. Pity help the ground crew if it rains overnight.

Posted in another thread, the magoos got switched because AFLNSW wanted a Sydney Schools rep. game on as a promotion for junior footy in Sydney. That game starts at 10 am.
