Jude has his detractors and his supporters and I think they were evenly divided . But with his current good form the numbers would have turned around . I have always been a fan because he has a lot of guts.
Also when you say "YOU LOT '' you must mean every one and that is not correct. FAR from it

and Leigh Matthews is a big fan of Brad Seymour (likes his pyhsical nature)....so could be an interesting trading period this year.

If Mark McVeigh was REALLY interested in coming to Sydney he would be well worth picking up provided we got him for a very low price (as far as a swap or draft picks are concerned); he?s certainly not worth a Jude Bolton swap to us. We should offer Essendon very little for him or we should be prepared to take our chance of picking him up in the draft. Most clubs would not be prepared to chance picking up a player who really wanted to go home (ie Des Headland or Craig Bolton) so I think that we?d probably get him in the draft anyway.

It?s still too early to consider Scott Stevens? situation with the club if he develops his consistency and versatility this year we?d probably keep him, otherwise he?s probably tradable. It would all depend what West Coast was prepared to offer.

The Brisbane situation is far more interesting, they will be under enormous salary cap pressure at the end of this season and they may have to let some very good cattle go. If Akermanis were to be cut from the Lions list for example we?d be MAD not to seriously chase him, of course his worth is considerable so a swap including Seymour could be well worth considering. We?d have to offer them a genuine senior player like Seymour as part of any trade but this could be a win/win/win situation ? we?d end up with a champion player/Brisbane would get a good senior player and save a couple of hundred thousand off their salary cap/a change of clubs may well provide a player like Seymour with a new lease of life.

But it's a new year. Jude was on of those players I had earmarked for a "sink or swim" year. So far, he's not quite Thorpedo, but he's sort of like Daniel Kowalski... doing enough, anyway.

Matthews likes Snapper, eh? I don't disbelieve this, but I couldn't really see this happening atm with Brad's injury/inconsistency issues. However, what would a fair swap be? Mal Michael? Jared Brennen? Lepper? Aker often gobs off about leaving the Lions-maybe he'd be the most likely.

Interesting about Mcveigh. Maybe he's worth a 2nd round draft pick-like Davis was.

I would take Mark only if we were the clear clear winner out of the deal.
And by the way, marks skills arent that much better than judes.
And also Mark is playing his best football at the moment from a running half back this year, and gods knows we dont need more meduim sized defenders.

On McVeigh - Who care we got the better brother
On Bolton - Only trade if the deal is right and only if he has a bad year. On current form I would keep him
On Wooden - He is a tagger, more than anything. Might be useful for a short time but long term I don't know.
On Stevens - If the Eagles offered us Brent Staker for him, I would jump at it. Staker is a good tall defender, who we would of picked up if we didn't select Dempster as a F/S
Once was, now elsewhere

Easy robby, we have really got no indication on the kid, and wont have for a year or two.

Oh puh-lease... Bolton is a core member of the team now and essential to our success...?!?!

Sure McVeigh is a runing midfield/flanker type, but wouldn't it be nice to have one that can actually deliver the ball to a target.

Bolton might be in and under the packs, but most of his effective possessions don't come that way, and we seem to be able to get the ball when he's not on the scene.

Mark McVeigh isn't the answer to our problems. He doesn't have great skills, as many would think. Want someone who can hit the target, well how about Sundqvist???

My mail is that Scott Stevens wants to return home and West Coast are showing some interest in him. West Coast were keen to draft Scott but were beaten by the swans.

Re Brad Seymour......likely to be a straight player swap......they might try Martin Pike.
Will this be the year !!!!

On Mc veigh- It can somtimes be a distraction for brothers to be playing together. Also for their team mates. It works well in brisbane, but thet are identical twins. I think we stick with one mcveigh for the time being, Unless we get essondon's 4 a song.

I do like the way Mark plays and I think we would be worth a early draft pick. Jude is starting to get his hands on the ball and his disposals can only improve. I seem to remember Sheedy wanted him before - must like his guts and believes he can iron out the kinks. It would be devastating to see him play well for the Bombers!

I think you are on the money Tractor2003 with Stevens. I would have seen this as a certainity at the end of next year if Stevens can't break into the side by then as he is still good trade bait.

Sydney always wanted Stacker but didn't have the pick to get him when they went for Dempster. It would seem a natural swap for both clubs as both players are of similar height.

Can we do it now considering our backline problems at present?
