Actually, 12 people have now voted for that particular option. Looks like you have competition!

The "Roosey speak" is such because he wants us all to think that he knows what he is talking about. He puts a tone and inflection on his voice that he thinks transmits the feeling that he knows what he is talking about. All AFL coaches do it in their own little way. I guess we all do.

For instance Laidley draws back on his breath preceding when he wants to make an important point.

Sheedy and Malthouse on the other hand change the subject when they get flogged, to make it appear that they know what they are talking about on anything but coaching.

TBH he also overdoes "just a bit" and "just a little".
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Look, to be honest, at the end of the daaay, Goodesy Bally Hally Kirky Boltony Schneidery and Jolly-y-y are t'rrific guys and we need to do a bit of work on where we need to get to and that's the probably the thing that's a bit hard to understand but it is a bit frustrating and that's probably the frustrating thing to be honest.

Hey, I think it would make a difference if he wore brown shoes instead of black, should we vote on that? It sure would be different to focusing on what we "could" achieve. Come to think of it, maybe we should focus on losing the next few games as that wouldn't make any difference to our position since how we think and feel has no impact on our performance.

Oh, I bet the team would take that as a constructive plan - let's go into the game focusing on losing!

I'm not talking about the players - I was referring to the supporters as I assumed you meant that by 'we'. If you are referring to the players then I agree with your view that they need to believe, etc.
