So Bron's "we" is "us" but her "our" is "them"?

If how the supporters think and feel really has an impact on performance - what happens with the teams down the bottom of the ladder? Wouldn't their supporters all be doing the same?

You can dream all you like. If you don't have the ability to do it - you won't.

It all comes down to belief. If the players' belief is strong enough, then it wouldn't matter how much negativity they were to read on RWO or in the papers. As for the comment that if you don't have the ability to do it - you won't, it depends on how much of the game you think is played in the mind. As early as Round 6 this year, top 4 by this stage of the season would have been (and probably was!) dismissed as delusional on here! If we had lost that Essendon game in Round 7, the players' confidence might not have recovered, and THEY could be the ones near the bottom right now - that's how much of a fine line it is.

I recall a comment on here around that time that the Swans were a top 4 team playing with all the self-belief of an SFL team. And not much has changed since that time - they are just playing better. Obviously, belief is a major part of that.

Yes but the AFL is structured in such a way that the delusional fools who support teams like Hawthorn or Carlton think that they suck so much that a flag must be just around the corner.

Overall, the general feelings of the supporters do affect a team to an extent - any chance of Richmond improving a terrible season last year would have gone out the window thanks to the behaviour of their fans. This season, seeing fans of teams like the Demons start to bag their own players certainly wouldn't be helping.

However, what is posted here won't make a difference - we aren't that important

Not sure about dreams but belief (as sydfan said) and determination are extremely important - just ask Mark Philippoussis & Lleyton Hewitt. I know which one is more talented and it's not the guy who got to number 1.

Look at someone like Kirk and compare him to guys like Angwin & Norman. You have to want it and determination is often more important than ability - but a complete lack of either would be fatal.

This article in today's Australian says it better than we could:

That's despite the fact that I think the writer got the lead premise wrong - I thought only the leadership group was The Bloods. But it's inspirational stuff, if that counts for anything.

Hawthorn is a spectacular example. Jeff Kennett is rumoured to be taking over as President next season. Rat swimming to sinking ship

In the past it has referred to supporters, as I have commented on before.
