I heard a few ex Collingwood recruitment staff are on the markert

But seriously, from where we have finished in the last 10 years and with us not having the ability of calling upon large pools of talent in our state for rookie selections like SA & WA, our recruiting department along with decisions made in the football department regarding trades have been very good.

I am pretty confident we will get a great midfield core of 3 players that could play 100+ games for the club out of he current batch of players.

We only now just need to un earth a little cream for icing on the cake.

Firstly, Shauble should be playing. No doubt about it.

Secondly, Leo Barry is not a full back. I have nightmares about moments like the first quarter against Essendon. Leo plays the man too much which is why he gives away so many frees.

I agree we should recruit a big bodied backman so Leo can be moved up the ground a bit. But unfortunately KPP don't grow on trees and are rarely traded.

Us Woy Woy boys! I could try to chat to him after the season's over and try to make him homesick.

If every RWOer who ever threatened to hand in their membership over something the club might do carried out their promise, sorry I mean threat, they'd be almost no members left on these forums.

Freo seem to be the most favoured source (Croad to Hawks, McPhee to Bombers) tho Brissie are no doubt still thankful to the Pies for Mal Michael.

In brief, trades are rare but they do happen.

Oftmentioned on this board, NSW boy Staker at WCE might be a likely prospect. Guess that diminishes if he wins a flag this yr tho.

No he is not. Poorly coached for quite a few years, but still very capable. And he has had some of his best games this year in defence.

We almost got him in 2003, but they offered him a last minute 2yr contract. He quite clearly resisted moving anywhere else but here, although his mind may have been changed with some of the form they have had this year.

You'd hope he'd had enough of the losing (and loser) culture at Richmond.

I don't think so. Early in the year from what I saw he was playing extremely well. I've heard more than one Richmond supporter saying he'd be top five in their best and fairest.

why doesn't the name polak come up in discussion? is he a WA boy? no. 4 after judd in the draft ain't too bad. is he on a long term freo contract or something? I'm sure with the right coach and the joys of living and playing as a sydney-sider would have to be better than where he is.

Polak is indeed from W.A. He signed a contract last year(Or perhaps early this year) for two-three years. Something about a million dollars overall, IIRC.

Brent Staker the Broken Hill boy from West Coast maybe a realistic chance of trading for in the next couple of years. Has shown some promise so far and was a KP defender in his junior days.

The Eagles seem to have a host of young tall forward/defenders and may decide to cash in on a trade for staker while still young and showing some form. Rather than take the chance he may want to head east in a couple of years.
