    Bolton & Schauble

Ok, I admit to getting a bit of 'fast forward fever' when watching the taped game when the Demons were driving into their forward line.

Perhaps I missed some of the updates on Bolton & Schauble during the game, but the way the commentators were speaking, coupled with the pics of Schauble at 1/4 time, had me thinging that most of his season was gone.

Turns out he is up for a fitness test.

And Bolton looked pretty damn bad.
I know they take precautions, but they were running around all looking very worried when it happened.

Concussion and should come up for the Eddies game.

Great news, even if neither play on the weekend

From what I understand, Schauble's hamstring is back related, so on one hand he could be back very quickly, but on the other, it could be one of those drawn out sagas.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I doubt Schauble would play this week. Depending on the ground, I would take either LRT or Powell in his place. Either way, I would like the new kid to match up on Fraser. Both LRT and Powell should match up well on Fraser.

Bolton on Tarrant, Saddo on Rocca and Warfe or Barry on Molloy would do for me.

I am quietly confident that our defense would hold against Collingwood forward. Just dont know about our midfield.

Spelt out like that I think we will have a problem holding them. Tarrant is very fast off the mark and I don't think Bolton has the pace to keep up with him.

Saddo on Rocca might work, unless Rocca has one of those days out when he just about marks everything that comes his way. Fortunately he doesn't have those very often and Saddo will definitely be able to keep up with him speed and stamina wise.

Molloy is very strong. Warfe is probably stronger than Barry and might be a better match up but would probably still lose out in a one-on-one strength test. Mind you, Molloy is such an ordinary kick on goal that it probably wouldn't matter if he did take a few marks, so long as he wasn't in the goal square.

It would be good to have Fixter in for this game to mind Leon D. I know he's done diddly squat so far this season, but he's still a dangerous player. I reckon a fit Fixter would be able to take care of him reasonably easily, but as things stand we might have to sacrifice Crouch to play on him. I reckon, though, we need Crouch to play on Burns, Licuria or O'Bree through the middle.

I really hope LRT plays and plays on Fraser.

          And gives him a towelling.

And then hear what Eddie has to say about a local concession pick trouncing his once in a generation awkward-arse.

As for Tarrant, Rocca et al - just like any other forwards if you cut their supply they look a hell of a lot less dangerous. From what they've shown to date they rarely work themselves into a game after starting off poorly.

Lizz - actually hope molloy has his shots on goal ( if any ) closer to the goal square. I have seen him of late, and he has been drilling big big goals.

You read my mind, Steven. Should be plenty of fun if that eventuates. And if I was Roos, I would even let LRT follow Fraser if he goes to the ruck.

bolton on tarrant is a bad, bad, bad idea... tarrant absolutely flogged him last season... it does sound like a good matchup but considering last year's performance id rather not see bolton on tarrant

                  Nah.

That would be such a waste.

I reckon Schneider could pip Fraser in a ruck contest.

Same for saddington - he got the job last year and tarrant went nuts in the last quarter kicking 4 goals and won the match for pies after we were winning at 3 qtr time by 2 goals.
Looks like we will have to bite the bullet and play one or the other on tazza - and just hope his supply from midfield is very pressured and cut off

I agree with Penga, after his Anzac Day form Didak is the worry. Regardless of the matchups the backmen are going to have to work as a team to nail 'em.

Just belt him, Didak, early and he won't go near it again.

                          Soft as.
