They did - round 19 against Essendon as that was the anniversary.

I would really, really love us to thrash the Roos to lock ourselves into the 4. I hate their game and, also, would like to see how another decisive win would be discounted outside NSW on Monday.
I'm not really sure why it should be remembered in the return game against the 'Roos rather than on the anniversary. I can't see how it matters who we were playing at the time. In future years will it also be remembered during 'Roos games at the SCG no matter in what round they are played?

Paul Roos obviously holds it in the context of the Nth Melb game. But to avoid the sensitive issue of Wally and the loss, it depends if you think of our finals win in 2003 as a victory over Port or a QF and Plugger's 1996 kick as a victory in a PF or against the Bombers. But in 10 years I think we'll remember it as that Roos game, not R19 2004.
So will we wear black armbands every time we play the 'Roos at the SCG?

Just curious. Seems a bit strange, but at least it's a good cause.

I hope we do beat them and beat them well. As they are remembering Wally and wearing black armbands surely that will fire the guys up and come away with a win.
Surely the guys won't want to miss a top four spot.
We could possible meet the Roos again though depending how elimination finals go.
Hate the Roos and their lauding they went on with after this game last year - even the press - they didn't even give a bit considering we had lost Wally and the guys all knew it.
Originally posted by Refried Noodle According to ticketek there are still plenty of tickets left in all areas, except only single seats in the alco free bays.
The roos only just beat Collingwood and Port, shouldn't be too much trouble.....
33,468 in attendance.
Weird, I tried to get tickets on Monday and was only offered concourse seating (only singles in the stands). Then I tried last night and everything was available.
Oh, and I think it will be 34,770!

I doubt that Roos will press the "Lets do it for Wally" line much, partly becuase of the obvious pain he feels about it, but also because these pleas to emotion can backfire sometimes.
I'm sure Wally will be mentioned in the right context - but I don't think his death will be used as a motivating factor.
How come whenever we predict the crowd attendance, people type the last 3 digits, rather than rounding the whole number off?
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Grasshopper, first ask the question: Why does anyone try to predict it at all?
