Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them. -

Yeah, not too many night entertainment options in Sydney town. Better than going roo-shooting or starting a bon-fire in George Street , I guess."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

The AFL will be hard pressed to fit all the Victorian teams into the Dome & Skilled Stadium so be prepared for us to play a lot of games home early and plenty in Melbourne at the end of the year.

i wonder if the club might throw in a late request for a fourth telstra stadium match? particularly if we win on saturday.
Essendon, Collingwood and Brisbane as the three for mine but who for the fourth match? Richmond or Geelong? maybe saints are an option for a fourth telstra match.
Melbourne might be a good punt for a match later in the year. I reckon they'll go okay next year and while they don't have the biggest supporter base they are at least wealthy enough to fly. also, the "sydney vs melbourne" thing has some appeal to it.
our average attendance in 1997 was 36,563 so with the increased "base" i think we have, our average attendence next year might be getting pretty close to the capacity of the scg.
this is our great chance to boost our profile outside of the east and inner west.then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i knowComment

With crowds like these (for 1997):
40,623
41,243
36,428
36,077
39,318
39,827
34,111
46,168
Why wouldn't the Swans and AFL want to move one or two extra games to Stad Aust (just for 2006, possibly longer if we perform as well next year).
Home game agaisnt St Kilda at StadAust would get a pretty big crowd I reckon.
Altho still keep most at the SCG. 7 and 4? or 6 and 5? (plus the Bulldogs 'home' game). That's the problem with modern day medicine - there's no more natural selection of the species.
No wonder there's so many Collingwood fans.Comment

Lets get a couple of day games at Homebush too. Was one of the most enjoyable days at the footy this year out there on the Sunday against Brisbane. hell of a lot easier to get there too on a Sunday than a night time.Visit my eBay store -

Sunday arvo games at the SCG are my favourite.
The one afternoon game at the Stadium this year was a hoot. Great crowd, great weather....better than the chilly Saturday nights in the past.
Friday nights - won't get too much because of TV.
Similiarly Saturday nights do clash with the Rugby, both Super 12s and International.
For me, footy is best played during the day.Comment

Good point Flop, plus what have been the best games for atmosphere over the last 3 years, excluding the blockbusters at the Stadium? - WC this year, Sainters last year, and Lions the year before - all upsets on beautiful Sunday SCG afternoons.Comment

I'm for 4 telstra games. The new one being the grand final rematch v WC. Make it early in the season too. Perhaps even our first home game.
Saints, pies and essendon for the others.
this is another issue but i'd like to see every year start and end with a swans-lions match: for each clubs supporters it makes these essential matches accessible. you could swap each year who hosts which (unless there's a flag to be unfurled somewhere)
i don't think it's too much of an issue for the last match of one year and the first match of the next to be the same.then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i knowComment

I love my Sunday afternoon games at the SCG - weather always seems to be perfect & great family atmosphere. Just one of the reasons why footy Sydney-style is different to Melbourne - vive la difference!
however, i'd like to see a big day match at telstra every now and again. would a day fixture there encourage or discourage people from flying up from melbourne/brissie.then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i knowComment
