    Lrt

LRT had a blinder. He took marks, went for a run, smothered, tackled, served the oranges, washed the jumpers, screwed in the stops, administered the magic spray and looked every bit as good this week as he looked awful earlier in the year. A credit to the Swans player development program. Every week for the last month it seems like you are seeing his best game yet.

His marks were amazing. The pub went up in a roar.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Its the haircut. If he goes shorter again, he will get better. Hopefully by the GF he will be bald.

A lot of emphasis is placed on SOS's involvement, but the real key to LRT's improvement is the way he's treated by the rest of the team, in particular Craig Bolton.

Earlier this year, other team mates wouldnt pass to LRT (especially that inspirational leader Matthews ), and wouldnt offer any options when he had the ball. As a consequence it was obvious LRT's confidence was down translating into clangers induced also by lack of options.

Now team mates are involving him in link play, using him as a target, and providing a lot of assistance. Noticed how Craig Bolton always offers a option for LRT now. Even switches of play. Thats leadership.

Now that LRT feels part of the team, his marking and kicking have recovered. Young blokes always have a confidence issue where they are not sure if the belong in the AFL, especially where you havent had the footy background.

I think SOS's involvement has led to his team mates being more confident in him. Thus, them including him in the play.

That passage of play where he got a couple of punches and two smothers (or something like that) was brilliant.

I think SOS is being used as a convenient "out" by those calling for LRT's head during the year.

Wasnt SOS only seeing him once a fortnight or something ?

I think its a combination of reinforcing factors - SOS, self-belief, team mates' confidence (in him), more options as the team itself is playing better, hard work and improvement by a natural athlete.

His biggest problems earlier in the season were reading the flight of the ball and using his body. I suspect some very timely and useful advice from SOS (and no doubt some others in the team) has shown him some invaluable techniques and ideas that he's been able to work on in games.

Indeed, a month or so ago his stats against North (his names near the bottom of the stats list with only 8 possesions, 4 marks and 2 frees against) would have had some of our fellow RWOers doing their intemporate little nuts.

Only for those who focus on stats and nothing else... hmmm... I can think of anyone who does that actually!

It was more that they were nothing stats, now the stats are noticeable on the field. Marks he would've dropped a month ago are sticking, handballs/kicks are hitting targets.
