I think 2003, but this year is building rapidly, and not just because of last week. I reckon the biggest factor in September is not where you are on the ladder but how long is your injury list. This is probably our best chance since 1996 until O'Brien went down - let's hope nobody else does this year.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. I too, along with the rest of my family, joined in 1997 to ensure we got a seat each week. Up all through the 80s and 90s we had no trouble, but in 1996 it changed. That's when I noticed them coming out of the woodwork, and in '97 I was amazed at how little Aussie Rules knowledge some of the members had!Originally posted by Piobaireachd

I'm happy to see that a lot of people stuck around after 96 though and the past few years of finals appearances have helped keep people interested. Most people figure out how wonderful a game it is after one or two games. Except my husband Life's not a spectator sport Life's not a spectator sportComment

I joined in 2004 and am damn proud of it. I had never been to a game before 2003, and since I first went I've scarcely missed a home game. It's not my fault I didn't discover football until a bandwagon-season. But I've stayed a member since and intend to in the future.

If you're in it for the football, who really cares when you join?Comment

Spoon or no spoon, I'll always go to my one guaranteed Sydney game a year. I'm starved of AFL here in Canberra!Originally posted by Sanecow
There's nothing wrong with jumping on at any time! Plenty fall off when there's a wooden spoon for the taking though.

At the moment the '96 is bigger, unless we make it to the GF this year. That's the problem with modern day medicine - there's no more natural selection of the species.
No wonder there's so many Collingwood fans.Comment

Eirinn I think you missed Moo's point it's only considered to be badwagony if you jump off after the team starts to slide in the down hill directionHere's my heart and you can break it

Actually, I was going off on a tangent. I've been accused on many occasions of being a bandwagon jumper, or of being somehow inferior because I've only been a member for two year, and it's really pi$$ing me off.Originally posted by BAM_BAM

Face it - you're just an inferior bandwagon!

The big band wagon would surely be one carrying Glen Miller et al!?!Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
