Ok we are all excited by the opportunities ahead of this team...

But lets settle down a bit until some real achievments are on record.

The win againts the Roos was good, but until we can win againts red hot opposition in away games, we have not really achieved anything.

This team needs to play a couple of very very good games on the road in the comming weeks to be anywhere near true contenders. A big ask considering the opposition.
We still should be rank underdogs for the first week of the finals and I will not get excited until one or two finals have been won.

We must not get ahead of ourselves.

Let's not be too conservative, Footyhead.
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

Passed every test except for Adelaide, however that was our fault, not theirs.

Even the very best have stumbled before finals glory.

The Lions lost the first final to the Pies in 2003 in Melbourne, then hammered Crows, over ran our boys and then killed the Pies.

I don't begin to think that we're up there with that Brisbane team, but we are in great form physically (few injuries) and mentally (form).

I think Adelaide will beat the Eagles, meaning we will go to Subaico for the first week. I also think we can take the Eagles over there for a historic finals victory.

West Coast Eagles have lots of stars, lots of love heaped upon them by their adoring Perth fans, however they have not proved to the greater AFL they have the game plan or the ticker to win finals footy.

Right at this moment, I have no doubts that every finals contender is scared of what Sydney Swans are capable of.

Yes, I believe you're right. Sometimes, I think that Adelaide will try to win at Subi just to avoid the Swans.

IMHO we are more dangerous than in 1996 because we have at last some experienced reserves and genuine depth should we cop some injuriies during the campaign - apart from BBH, Magic and Goodsey who of course who would be irreplaceable.

I think Leapin' Leo should be added to that list.

No doubt he is a great player but I was thinking of Schauble as being able to come in as a replacement at least at full back whereas for Baz, Adam and Mick can't see anyone even coming close to a replacement

                          Ditto, twofold.
I'll have $10 on him for B&F. Well, for those who have already purchased tickets

Good article on him in the recent Swans members magazine. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more consistent player this year.

Not generally seen as a glamour player, but a VERY good player. Bet Brisbane have a few regrets...
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
