    Sean Dempster

After his efforts this weekend, I thought Sean Dempster deserved his own thread. He's played wonderfully this year, and I thought this week was clearly his best game.

    And that kick!!! It's fantastic.

Now, if only he'd get his first ever goal at AFL level...

Also a great run out of defence and knows when he must offload. Great awareness skills there.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

Got only one week to get the Swannies a Rising Star nomination!

Loved it when he burnt of Wellsey too. Unfortunately he's been too accountable and too shy to show that kind of zip in the past...should do it more often.

Just watched the replay today on FFC.
Gold, the way he made Wells eat his dust!
Sucky to hear Dermie and Co ask if Wells was injured, for surely he must be injured to let a 'no one' like Dempster breeze by...

Liking his big, booming kick -- we haven't seen much of that previously. He appears to be backing himself now and looks as though only better things are to come for Sean.

Wells is carrying an injury..According to BF at least. I think it's very possible. Hasn't looked right for a while.

Wells doesn't look anywhere near as quick as he did earlier in the season and last season.

I agree. He's spent too much time looking after his man and has been afraid to run off him when the opportunity arose. I guess this comes with experience, but I'd like to see him take a leaf out of Leo and Tadgh's book (or even from the great man Paul Roos) and back himself when he gets the chance.

Check out the Swans' photo gallery for a great picture of Dempster from Sunday's game after he's just boofed the ball upfield.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

What about a chant (Boooommmm for eg) when he kicks the ball. I miss the old ROOOS chant evrytime he had the ball. It would be confidence building for Sean and encourage him to run and kick more.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

There are a few like that now - seems that Cooney gets a "Coooon" from the Doggies fans (not very PC I must admit) when he gets the ball, and Chris Bryan from Carlton has taken over from Ang Christou with the "Woof" every time he kicks the ball.

His kick is not unlike the great action Nicksy had in his prime IMO.

A bit early for legend status I should think.
