Heading into a finals campaign with our sails full of wind, what is our biggest weakness? What do we need to worry about the most.

A general weakness is that we don't play well in the west and to get the GF, it is 50% likely that we will need to go there and win.

Aside from that I am struggling to identify a real weakness. Maybe that Benny Matthews is still scheduled to toss the coin in the GF?

Psuedo weaknesses that are not really weaknesses

1. Too short in defence (but good spoilers and lots of rebound)
2. No absolute champion midfielder (but lots of good ones)
3. Too much reliance on Barry Hall (nice problem to have)

Name me a side in the last 3 years that has done well in the West, besides West Coast & Freo?

I think our main hurdle could be confidence. We've seen how well the guys go when their confidence is up and how badly they perform when it is down. They need to maintain that during games and from week to week.

I think our biggest problems come when the midfield get bogged down and have difficulty delivering freely to the forward line. If you think about our past two games, the common denominator is that we have been winning clearances, dominating in midfield and delivering the ball fairly well to the forward line. It is often when our midfield struggles that we tend to rely too heavily on Hall.

I don't think our defense is too much of a concern. I think we've done amazingly well in defence this year, given that our back line personnel are hardly huge. However, there's still the chance that we could be exploited by a big forward like Neitz or Gehrig.

It's about this time of year that I wish we had a matchwinning midfielder like Cousins or Voss.

And apparently Roos has announced that he'll be choosing a captain for the entire finals series, so a Ben Matthews coin toss is unlikely.

I think our Achilles Heel is Adelaide, I'm fairly confident against all the other sides in the finals.

You would think that whoever he chooses would be the most likely pick for permanent captaincy next year unless they decide to continue with rotation.
