I don't understand about this concern to play on Friday night.
The club expressed ineterest to play Friday night football anyway. It's about time that the Swans take head on NRL in terms of TV ratings. If they play good football they'll have somebody to watch them. The only problem is Ch 9 during the H&A season, but for the finals series there shouldn't be any problems as they are televised by Ch 10 only.

Who cares? I just want to be able to watch it.

The St Kilda final a year ago rated abysmally IIRC.

There seems to be an assumption that Adelaide will lose. I think teams may have worked the Weagles out and I am expecting a Crows win.

I just hope they both belt the tripe out of each other.

          Swans to play in Perth.

Who cares about the TV ratings about as relevant to me as Skeleton Laidleys ramblings at the aftermatch last weekend.

For that reason alone I'd be surprised if we get Fri. night.

              Friday night is good news.

We would be playing an opponent with the same amount of rest as us (the Eagles-Crows game is scheduled for Saturday afternoon). This gives neither side an advantage.

If we win, we win a home preliminary final.

It's also good if we lose, because we would get an extra day's rest over the winner of the elimination final. The elimination final that corresponds to the Friday night qualifying final would likely be played on the Saturday afternoon.

I expect the following to be the draw for the first week of finals:

Friday night - 2 vs 3 (Subiaco or Football Park)
Saturday afternoon - 6 vs 7 (likely MCG)
Saturday night - 1 vs 4 (Subiaco or Football Park)
Sunday afternoon - 5 vs 8 (likely MCG)
