Maxfield - Who will he displace and why?

The word is out that Roosy is likely to give Stuart a run this weekend against Hawthorn.

Personally, I can't see who he will replace apart for Luke Vogels maybe but even he would be unlucky and not exacltly a like for like replacement.

    Anyone willing to speculate?

Unless they rest someone, like someone who has been struggling with a niggling injury, who needs a week off, Such as Ball.

But, Vogels or even maybe Dempster, are probably the two most likely to be dropped, purely on lack of experience.

    Another likely could be Fosdike.

I'd be dissapointed if it was Fosdike to make way.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I would be disappointed if it was ANYONE. Maxfield , based on form, does not deserve a spot. He was a good captain, but that was in the past and things have moved on. Also he gets too aggressive and frustrated and gives away too many free kicks.

Even against Hawthorn? I think its the perfect time to run him on.

Remember too that there is always the possibility of an injury. And then the depth of the team is tested.

Maxfield might replace Vogels, who missed too many targets on Sunday.

                J. Bolton....could probably do with a rest, gives a chance for Fosdike, Buchanan, Schneider and Davis to do a bit more work in the centre in preparation for the finals.

Bolton is in good form and doesn't need a run. Actually the same could be said for Kirk.

All the younger players would be negatively impacted with a week off.

He possibly could have snuck in if we had a few injuries, but with the midfield going the way it is I really don't see him forcing his way in. After just 1 1/2 games in a lower-standard league, I think match fitness will still be a big concern.

I agree with Sharp9, B1 could be rested allowing him to be firing for the first week of the finals.

It would really pi$$ me off if they gave Stewie a game when he hasnt proven himself fit enough or good enough but they wont give Schauble the same opportunity when he has proven himself.

I would agree with this possibility. It could be argued by coaching staff that the bigger MCG may not suit Luke. Also he isn't in devestating form either and has been a bench relief player in any case.

Meaning that if you were going to check on Maxi's form as a contributor for the finals, this would be the week to do so.

I would hate to see any of our midfielders have to make way for Maxfield who was in poor form before he got injured and couldn't have proved anything in 1 1/2 games in the ACTAFL.

All our midfield guys are in great form and playing well together so why put that at risk? Guys like Fosdike would benefit from more footy before the finals not less.

If Roos was desperate to give Maxfield a game it would probably be Vogels, but this would be unfair on the youngster,

IF I was bringing in Maxfield I'd give the young guys another week in the seniors and rest Willo (who seems a little bit off his game?) for a week.
