Gehrig is ojnly considered a chance to play this weekend. If Gehrig doesnt play, surely Roos will allow Bazza to keep playing until he kicks 6.

Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat. -
Surely Roos will put finals consideration ahead of that.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football." -
Surely he'll ask Bazza whether he think he needs to rest or not.Occupational hazards:

Playing w/o Baz really would change our forward structure (and probably would mean the leading defender would go on Magic, increasing his risk of injury). Okay when cruising like towards end of Roos game but not as the way to start.
So play Baz and see if he kicks a swag. But, as I said a few weeks ago, I think Baz has been told not to even compete for the ball on the ground.
Don't rest the kids - they need to consolidate their group play as they have for the past few weeks. But it'd be good to start Schaubs and Stewie on the bench this week to see if they could be of use if anyone goes down in the finals. (Can Schaubs ruck? He seems to be doing everything else in the 2s. And good to give Ball a rest, if anyone).
Dempster and Vogs definitely shouldn't be dropped. I think they have a good chance of being the players that step up in the heat of finals. Stewie and Willo/Leo and Schaubs tag teaming? I'd like to see that.Comment

If Hall has 4 goals at 3/4 time, and Roos sits him out the last, I'll be livid.
Hall can get injured anytime, anywhere. Hall has played about 3 or 4 years without injury. The chances as very slim. Let him enjoy the milestone which very few CHF's do.Comment

If we have the game in the bag on Saturday, there is absolutely zero contribution that Barry can make that will advance the team's cause. So in the rare situation that may occur on Saturday, Hall should be kept in cotton wool. The benefit that comes from using him is outweighed by the potential cost of an injury. We hate Anthony Rocca

I say continue as is and pick the best possible team.
Ball has a corky and could be considered for a rest, but it is far safer to go with what's working and not stuff around with the structure than rest players and risk losing third spot.
Because Hawthorn can't be taken lightly"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

When Hart was asked today whether Adelaide would rest Goodwin and Burton to help their respective injuries, his answer was "You dont mess with form". They will most likely play, as will Gehrig and McGuire for the Saints, Bruce for the Dees and numerous other half-fit stars for other teams.
The players themselves will want to play, so let em. Its a calculated risk, that can be minimised by extensive rest during the game. Our Greatest Moment:
