If the aker rumour was true what player/s would people be willing to trade for him (being realistic)?
Who would you trade for aker?

Dont want him.
Last time around yes, but now no. The team is to well bonded and he would create disruption IMO. Thats not to say we cant use more talent, but more in the mould of a Mitchell, West or Harvey. Our Greatest Moment:

How's this for thinking? Aker can't shake the Crouch tag, so might as well join the only team in the league that can stop him?
Aker joining Sydney would be a Lockett 2002 type distraction, media frenzy blah blah blah.
I actually think that with Willo, Stu and Bally in their second last or last years of footy, that a player of Aker's ilk would be really handy, but I just can't get my head around the fit/lack of.
In the end though, these types of deals don't happen. For years now Aker has threatened to leave Brisbane and it won't happen. The deals that happen and done without the media privy to every detail. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

If he was up for trade I would take him, he will be 29 at the start of next season and I think you could probably squeeze another few years out of him. I have no idea who I would trade for him though, I can't even begin to think what the Lions really need.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

On the football side, I'd love to have him on board, as long as his motivations were right. Aker is only 28 and would have 4-5 years left in him during a period when the Swans should be pushing for honours every year.
I'd give up Pick 1 and Saddo.Comment

My concerns would be three-fold:
a) does he genuinely want to play for Sydney, and is giving Sydney the full value of his remaining football career his priority?
b) does having won three premierships and a Brownlow Medal affect his drive to succeed?
c) what will be his impact on the rest of the team? Is his personality too corrosive for the Sydney club culture? We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar

Do we need another match winner? Do we need another guy who can run through the midfield and actually be attacking? Hit targets on either side of his body, kick goals... You take the good with the bad, I think his suspect hamstrings are probably an acceptable risk for the benefit gained.
I'm sure it is a risk the medical staff would assess before any trading took place.Comment
