Then why the "officiated with" in the "Sons of former AFL players can play with the same club their father played or officiated with"? Huh? Why? Huh, huh?

Coaching does count towards the father & son rule, but you also have to had played for the club as well.Originally posted by sharp9
Coaching doesn't count unless they have changed the rules...this came up because Terry Wallace noted how silly it wa that his sons would not be eligible for the Bulldogs but would be for the Hawks.
Roos's kids will have the chance to decide which club they play for under father son (Brisbane or Sydney), subject to both clubs wanting to use their second round selection on them.

Doesn't Paul Kelly have two or three boys? If I can remember correctly they were up for drafting sometime around 2012 and beyond.Originally posted by Jeffers1984
Do we have any decent Swans Father/Son prospects coming up?

We need to be judicious about father-son rule - it hasn't done Collingwood much good.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment
