I can't comment on his form in the reserves, but the cynic in me would suggest that it's to try and put his name out in front of other clubs as a player on the fringe of selection, making him a possible player as part of a trade (can't see a trade solely for him).

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I agree. There is no way you'd be introducing new blood into the team 1 week out of the finals, especially when we have 3 or 4 guys back in the 2's who have all done ok at seniors already this year.

          Powell.

Could be a surprise move by Roosy. It would be good to have a couple of things up his sleeves for the finals - just to catch the opposition out. eg. Put Leo Barry to full forward in a final just to throw out the opposition.

Funny I thought the same thing.

On the flip side, I doubt anyone would want him anyway.

Yeah, I guess we can't read much into it.
Josh Thewlis actually got a game in the seniors about this time last year.

Powelly has been disappointing. Hasn't pressed for selection often enough but we all know he has talent and courage.

If you had asked me at the beginning of 2004, I'd have said he'd be a regular in the side like Ablett is now.

                Shame.

In his defence, Powell is of the same age as Macelski and about two years younger than Ablett. He was drafted when he was 17. So time is still in his side I think.
