...by the skin of their pants.
Syd 13.14 d Belconnen Magpies 13.9
Sydney was inaccurate early keeping Belconnen in it. Belconnen came back in the 2nd half and looked like they wanted to win much more than Sydney.
Sydney's best in the opinion of me, Grundy (5 goals) out of FF, Sunny and Powell, with Schmidt continuing to impress with effective delivery and Moore looking as though he will develop into a good player. Hayes was also impressive at the back and Schauble was solid, good when he needed to be but otherwise looking a little bored.
Saddington and McVeigh spent the entire second half on the bench (I did not wander around to see if there were ice packs. McVeigh did a little jog along the boundary during the 3rd term but went and put his jacket back on).
A fill in, number 54, had a red hot go all afternoon, while 51 earnt the ire of the parachoial local crowd in a humourous aside during the final quarter. Crouch could learn a thing or two from the Belconnen back "Gobbers" who I think has a mortgage on the "Serial Pest" tag.
Bevan continues to fail to break tackles with regular monotony and Heath James struggled (but remained uninjured).
And the Villies pies were hot, and the VB icey cold.
