    meiklejohn

would it be possible to play meiklejohn as a KPP? could provide that height down back

    lrt 196cm 86kg
    meiklejohn 197cm 93kg
    dustin fletcher 197cm 92kg

on those stats he is the next dustin fletcher could we be so lucky

i only watched the game on the box but he definitely looked like he wasnt slow

imagine being able to use meiklejohn as fb and lrt at chb, thats a tall backline with the likes of sadders (194cm) and bolton (190cm)

i thought itd be worth mentioning

although meiklejohn is still 18 and could grow yet

    Why stop there?

I like to think of him as the next Matty Primus

in fact i think that the following could work:

      meiklejohn on rocca
      lrt on fraser
bolton on tarrant (itd be nice to have james on him)
      barry on molloy
powell on didak (although itll be warfe)
crouch on davis (itd be nice if it was fixter)

i like the fact that between powell, lrt and meiklejohn they would have had 1 game of experience between them

i know that sadders has been trialled as a loose man in defense without being too successful but give it another shot as cloke will be loose man up the other end, if cloke moves to forward line then put sadders on him

Meklejohn does not have the mobility to hurt Rocca. In the air, Rocca should win with his shear strenght. That match up will never be a winner for us. Saddo on Rocca should work. Give Saddo the license to roam whenever he got the ball. That might hurt if they got the ball and deliver the ball to Rocca on counter attacks. But eventually, Rocca will tear off and have nothing left in the tank for the last quarter. Just hope, we are still in a chance by then.

procrastination moment (again!), but imagine this:

              fb: meiklejohn, 197
              chb: lrt, 196
              foll: ball, 200
              chf: hall, 194
              ff: doyle, 203

              goodes, 191 on ball
              kennelly, 190 on wing
              bolton, 190 hbf
              sadders, 194 bp
              james, 189 bp
              sundqvist, 188 wing
              magic, 188 fp
              powell, 190 hbf

You forgot Hunt and Dempster. Together that is 15 players 188cm and over. Including Warfe, we have a pretty tall team. We could top up this team with Schneider and Crouch of our own and Bell, Hulme, Harvey and Rodan by trade.
If Harvey or Bell is too expensive to get, we could ask Liba to come back. That would do for me.

BTW, I doubt Meiklejohn will turn into a full back. His bread and butter is the ruck.

does anyone know if dustin fletcher was originally recruited as a ruck?

Dustin Fletcher was originally recruited under father/ son - father was full forward Ken Fletcher

Father was a dashing wingman of the 70's

Essendon had Blethyn & Noonan and others up forward

im gonna bring this up again, im stubborn...

i couldnt get over how slow schauble looked when running after the ball on sat night, it might have something to do with the fact that he is slow... my point is, if we can justify having schauble at fb when he is that slow, why cant we have meiklejohn at fb? im pretty sure that meiklejohn would outrun him anyway...

schauble is lynch's bitch, if lynch plays we can not put schauble on him and expect a win...

                        schauble - 192cm 93kg
                        meiklejohn - 197cm 93kg

                        lynch - 193cm 98kg

we dont have any other option unless we put ball (200cm, 104kg) down there... schauble will be (ilegally) thrown around like a rag doll as demonstrated in the wizard cup
