Great courage and commitment, but too many mistakes - perhaps nerves? Can make us better for next time.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Someone has to speak up to either get video replays or some other sort of decision making, cause they just can't get it right.

        Herald Sun Report

        AFL Report

The Eagles kicked three goals for the night from free-kicks, the most dubious definitely being a highly technical free-kick to Tyson Stenglein for shepherding against Leo Barry at the 13 minute mark of the final term.
The resultant goal cut the margin to two points but yet after the Eagles had snatched the lead, a far more blatant free-kick to Sydney's Adam Goodes, who was clearly grabbed by the leg by David Wirrpunda, was not paid just 30 metres from the Swans' goal.
A goal to Goodes there at the 28 minute mark would have regained the lead for the gallant visitors but the Eagles immediately took the ball up the other end for Ashley Sampi to dribble a goal through on his left foot to give the Eagles' breathing space.

To say "we had no chance" is just crap. We had our chances even given the umpiring.

hated the umpiring and feel like it was costing us big time, but when i sit down and think it through we should of just won the game by a heap, we controlled the game for a long time. Umpiring wouldnt of mattered then

Very true, we had two chances to win it at the end, but ended up bombing it long to Hall against Glass and Cox. Just needed to be a bit smarter in that situation.

Was dissapointed but the umpiring was very bad!

The Leo barry decision was technically there what he thought he was acheiving i will never know he didnt need to take the guy out!

Our best players was for sure kenelly, C Bolton, Dempster, Davis and i thought Crouch was good in parts clearing the ball from our defensive 50! They should have moved him ontoi kerr when he was doing all the damage in the middle!

Ok! That was so Micky's goal in the first quarter. WCE were goalless for a whole quarter and we still didn't even win. IMO, we were the better side on the field but if WCE weren't awarded certain free kicks and we were, it could've been a different story.

I was mental when Schneider kicked the goal at the end. Four points, Swans, four points!

Wow, a 30 page thread here. Its now almost 3am so I'll have to read it tomorrow, when hopefully I will have calmed down. Time for a sleeping pill. Swallowed down with some more red.

                      We so should have won.

In the first few minutes effectively Goodes was on Kerr (which meant nobody) while Stenglein was on Goodes.

After a short while, Fosdike came on, went to Kerr while Goodes went back to a wing-type role and matched up with Embley.

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT WE CANT WIN A PREMIERSHIP!!! Who ever keeps writing "It will be hard to win a premiership from here now" have some heart!!!!!

We are still in and while there's life there's hope - WE CAN DO IT! Dont give up, the boys havent.
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!
