Too true, and if a couple of those shots at goal had been accurate, a 21 or even 27 point lead would have gutted the Weagles.

I noticed in the background someone was barking instruction at him to kick to that wing. Probably, he was pointing at Buchanan who was in clear. Somehow LRT mistook it for Mathews and the rest was history.

It must be said that LRT hold his head firm after that mistake which is a credit for his mental strength I think.

The credits for the whole team too. Even they knew that the umpires were agains them, they did not give in an inch. It shoudl the character and focus of the team.

With this, I am confident they could bounce back. Hope the physical side would be in their favour.

Okay we lost...Its not completely the end of the world - so why are we being so negative all of a sudden.
If we had won by a point would we still be this negative. Our forward line didnt have a great game by OUR standards but ****** neither did theirs - in fact theirs was WORSE!

Granted, its hard to win over there and we had disgusting umpiring decisions against us but when you look back at it every single player gave their all and that cant be faulted. We wasted a few opportunities - Kennelly missed one, Schneider missed one, Hall missed many, I even think Davis and MOL missed set shots too - but its not the end of the world.

To come so close and be robbed of the game is disappointing, no wait, its absolutely shattering but we can still do it - still win the premiership, but I just wish we wouldnt get so down on players and cut them to shreads.

IMO I wouldnt be making any changes to the team - consistency is a big plus and if there are no injuries I think we should stick to the same team!

My brother in law commented he had never seen a persons emotions turn as quickly as mine did at that moment. I went from applauding and making a "LRT has proved me wrong" comment to abusing the hell out of the poor kid in the space of 5 seconds. In hindsight it would have been a funny sight.

The thing about LRT's kicking that is so frustrating is that he can kick quite well. Just watch him during the warmups. However during gametime he seems to freeze up and is so intent on hitting his target he does it at half speed, resulting in those floaters he often kicks. Hopefully he will learn from this and gain the poise needed to play in defence.

You do realise that one of our forwards missing a set shot from 45 metres out is exactly a "critical turning point" as our backman giving to their forward 45m out. 6 points the wrong way.

Typical to single out LRT's one clanger when we had probably the highest clanger game I've seen in years.

But my negative is: Inability to keep footing. Jude Bolton being about the worst.

15 points up with 12 minutes was never going to enough. WC had their tails up and were predominantly playing in their forward 50. Only a matter of time before they rattled on a few goals with or without LRT's help.

At that stage WC had scored 1 point in nearly half a quarter of football. They did not look like scoring a goal and certainly didn't look capable of kicking 3-4 to win it. They had kicked just one goal in over two quarters at that stage.

Typical of you to blindly jump in and defend LRT. I haven't singled him out - I mentioned a number of other players. Overall I thought LRT's game was okay. However, I think that error was the most critical turning point in the game.

By the last quarter they had finally woken up that 3 talls wasnt working, and had a much more potent forward line in place, knowing that they had to score to win. Irrelevant what happened in 3 quarters. All through the game WC midfield were delivering the ball relentlessly into the forward line.

yeah thats well and good barry but that turnover gave the eagles the first goal of the last qtr and it hurt us. the crowd got involved and the eagles lifted considerably after this

Still didn't look particularly potent - hadn't scored a goal in over 7 minutes despite dominating play.

Pathetic. You can't even recognise the obvious - LRT made a critical error and it was a major turning point. I haven't blamed him for the loss at any stage - there are plenty of other factors. However, it was undoubtedly a critical turning point.
