    Roos on Sports Tonight

Didn't say anything about the umpires as he doesn't want to donate to the End of Season fund.

why doesnt the umpires coach face the media post match, surely they are fair game for questions along with the players.

The standard of umpiring is at its lowest ebb for many years. They have an aging and slowing group (McLaren is 41, Stinker 42 FFS). We knew McLaren was going to put in a shocker because that is the standard that the guy performs at week in week out. The AFL response is simply to try to "manage" the resulting outrage. The clubs comments on the abysmal sub-standard garbage that is dished up week after week is the most heavily sanctioned speech regime of any area of public life in Australia. The rugby tackle on Goodsey was a gutless "home town" decision by a match official who was derelict in his duty and obligations. Is there any other area of public life in this country where a governing organisation can supress even discussion? Umpiring = management without accountability = crap standard.

The problem with "Jimmy Durante" McLaren is that he can't see past his bulbous nose.

I wish Roos would come out and say something publicly. Who cares about the money? Sydney is robbed week in ,week out and it is not right.

I think we'd all happily chuck in to cover the fine!

We don't want favouritism like Hird got, so 10 grand would be enough maybe to get fairness????

McInerny was on the 7.30 report on Thursday night going into bat for umpires - if his media persona is anything to go by he's as soft as some of his free kicks. He'd get the gold medal in a bitch slapping competition.

It has been conceded by the umpiring fraternity that they got it wrong on the Leo Barry front. There is some suggestion the umpire involved will not get a game this week.

He should never get a game again. None of them should.
