The Red V is back!!
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Great, its great to have it back.
My only gripe is that its not the actual V jumper of old. I would of had the old Red V and the TOTC Logo in place of the QBE logo. Still it looks great. Now maybe the club should act and make this the official Melbourne away jumperOnce was, now elsewhere -
Yes, well - QBE ARE the club's major sponsor. Why don't we cover up their logo
I reckon the proper V with the white back would be great for our "away" design, and I'd certainly back the club all the way if they did thatLet's see how it looks and how the side performs in it on the weekend first though eh?

Des,
Just the normal old look with the TOTC logo instead of the QBE logo on the front and the QBE logo on the back stays. We could even of done what the Saints and Cats do, have the TOTC logo under the QBE logo.
I would say support in Melbourne for it to be our new away jumper would be near 100%. Away jumper for Melbourne games only.Once was, now elsewhereComment

I have followed the swans all my life and used to go to the lakeside oval as a kid and while it is good to have this jumper for this game I like the jumper with the opera house on it.
We are the Sydney Swans now and I say remember the past but move on to the future.
Go swannies.Comment

Bexl the past of this club is important. Its something to show the fans in Sydney who don't already know that we have a long history and it shows the Melbourne based fans that we are not forgeting it. 6 games a year is all I ask for it to be worn, just 6. The current jumper is our jumper now, but a little bit of history can always helpOnce was, now elsewhereComment

'Tis ugly.
I could swallow having the Red V for the Victorian matches if it would pull in another few old South fans... but jeez... that jumper is ugly.We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

It will be good to see the jumpers "live" and the crowd reaction towards them. I dont like em, dont hate em. Its a good idea all the same.No.1 ticket holder of Nick Davis Fan Club...Comment

I'm with Bexl.
I don't want the old jumper back in any form.
I live in Melbourne and supported the Swans when the were South Melbourne, but they are now the SYDNEY Swans, and should move forward as such.
I don't need to see a jumper to remember the history, or to have them feel more like my team.
The team of the century one off jumper is OK for the one match.
Might even try to get one on Ebay when they are up for saleThe difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Presumably to provide some contrast with Melbourne's "redlegs". IMHO the onus should be on the away team to ensure that they don't clash with the home team. their attempt at alternate socks - a thin navy band at the top of the socks - was pretty feeble.
Sensible idea, but melbourne should have made the change, not us.

I'm not keen on it. I definitely prefer the jumper with the red back, and I like the Opera House V too.Comment

I like it and also feel we need an alternative strip. This should not have to be confined to away games either - maybe 5-6 times a year where colour clashes, etc make our team stand out better.
The current jumper is ok but the opera house is a bit mickey mouse (not rhyming slang btw) and it is too dominated by red given the rest of our uniform is red.
I liked the centenary guernseys with two vertical red panels on a white background, but would like to see slightly thicker red panels."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment
