I really liked it..apart from the TOTC logo and motif. Too big. I agree it made us look very smart and seem to give the boys a lift.

Is there anyway that can convince the board or whoever is in charge of our strip to keep last nights strip as a permanent away strip?

Or even just keep the SMFC initials on the back..I loved it personally.

A petition? Something has to be done...we all got our way with roos..now lets do the same with the jumper!

I would wear the jumper they played in last night everywhere. I hate wearing the current one. The opera house yoke makes it look too cheesy.

My 2 cents worth plus GST.

I am gonna do a complete backflip having had time to get used to it.
      I like it.
      BUT
We should be very careful how it is implemented, if it is.

They were talking about it a bit at the family day.
The players seemed to like it.

I would love to buy it. I just love it. However the SMFC has to be put on the back
        Once was, now elsewhere

I'd like to see the club adopt designs such as these ones I put together myself - I think its a nice merge between the old style south guernseys and the current ones

look good to me, ert. I would have put something similar together myself, except without the bars on the back. I would really prefer the design to be the same from just about any angle - ie: your teammate should be the same colour at a glance whether he's running towards or away from you. so your designs are ok by me.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Having seen them live, I like them too. I also liked the SMFC.

These two remind me of the one we wore in the pre season cup in (I think) 97.
They were the worse I have ever seen worn!!

I live in Melbourne and supported the Swans when the were South Melbourne, but they are now the SYDNEY Swans, and should move forward as such.

I don't need to see a jumper to remember the history, or to have them feel more like my team.

The team of the century one off jumper is OK for the one match.
Might even try to get one on Ebay when they are up for sale
An interesting side-note to this happened on Saturday. Charlie wanted me to get a "South Melbourne" chant going in commemoration of the guernseys. I declined, saying pretty much the same stuff as said above.

Remember the club's history, but bear in mind that it is also in the past. Chanting "South Melbourne" would only be seen as devisive.

On than tangeant, after nearly a year or so without hearing it, we had the annoying chant of "Go Swans" rather than "Sydney" a few times on Saturday. The person doing that, not particularly liked by nearly everyone in the Melbourne CS, has traditionally always had a huge chip on his shoulder about chanting "Sydney" until the club told him to change it. He turns up one match a year and desides to just change everything.

Man, I hate chanting "Go Swans". It's so anoemic!

I don't mind having a home and away set of jerseys. I like the current one though would not be against the nod to history with a SMFC on the back (a la Lions and Doggies). I also like the old South V jersey for Melbourne away games. But I also like the red and white vertical striped one we wore in 96 I think it may have been.
Anyway the Ronald McDonald socks should stay....
If 2003 season has taught us anything so far, it is this:
Cressa and candy-striped socks = WIN
no Cressa and redleg socks = LOSS
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

I thought it looked good on the ground. No harm having an alternative strip however the only team we are likely to clash with are the Saints.

I like the SMFC idea and am surprised that it hasn't come up before (ASFAI have heard).

However I have to go with those who prefer as much red as possible. Yes, we are the SYDNEY swans. Love the red. red is my colour. red is my team. (Especially necessary for forwards with large posteriors to wear red shorts whenever possible!)

Also I have to say that the candy striped socks looked terrible, and silly and I love them

They are old fashioned and unique (I think) and so retro they are cool.

So, in short Red Tops (with Opera house) red shorts, Candy socks and SMFC letters all get my vote.
