Player of the Week - Rd 5

As vaguely promised elsewhere on this board.. Liz Read has made good and delivered this week's Player of the Week

Comments, feedback etc here as per usual.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Would have gone with Goodes, but that could get boring every week

      Nice touch Liz.

Have watched the replay more times than I should have this week (poor wifey). And I have to agree that Magic's spark in the last Q was something to behold. It was kind of becoming the Magic Show and reminded us of what he used to be renowned and feared for; his sublime tricks.

I think that Roosy is doing somthing us supporters seem to see as making perfect sense and that is playing guys in their best roles and not comprimising or persisting with some foolish left-field crap that just doesn't work.

M.O'l Mick is a superb rover/crumber, not a marooned FF
Ball Plays best on the ball and not stuck up forward all game
AG Also plays best on the ball

I will say that however good Nicksy is as a shot for goal, he may indeed find himself down at half-back regularly this season if he can't find consistent form at HF.

Enjoyed the read Liz, one question though. Why do we only get a 'player of the week' when we win? Surely there must have been someone worthy in team during the three loses?

Last season I did one win or lose - except for the St Kilda game when I couldn't find it in me to write a kind word about any of them.

It's not intended to be a win only column - I'd just been very busy in recent weeks and it didn't help that I hadn't found anything particularly inspiring to write about. I had intended just to let it die a quiet death, expecting no-one would notice, until I had received a couple of queries about what had happened to it earlier this week. In a fit of remorse I therefore wrote this weeks, and if people find it interesting I'm happy to try to deliver one each game for the rest of the season.
