Bugger. Without reading your post, I assumed the poll question was 'Can we still beat Geelong next week?' because I chose 'Definitely'. Anyway, on that note, we have a firm chance. Geelong are of ultimate suckage when they travel interstate. Hopeless.

It won't be a St Kilda/Swans Grand Final should we win against Geelong. Who would've thought St Kilda could make the Grand Final? Never even crossed my mind that that was a possibility.

There had been heaps of talk about an Adelaide/Swans Grand Final. It's going to be a real test for us to beat Saints at the G. I am worried! It's all happening too fast, despite that this week will probably be long.

If we beat St Kilda, not only would we have a victory to celebrate over, we'd be in the Grand Final. But if we lost, it's not like St Kilda are moving to another round of Finals, they are a pure 50% chance of winning that Premiership Cup.

Like I said once, I always like to know we're on top of St Kila. I don't like it when they get ahead of us. They are quite a flawless team and they are smooth. As a team, we do pretty damn well considering that the Umpires certainly aren't our best friends and we don't have any Mark Riccuitos' or Stephen Milnes'. I know we have the likes of Barry Hall, Nick Davis, Adam Goodes and Paul Williams, but other teams are full of stars. I am not putting our team out and saying we have no good players - only a select few stand out to me. We're a lucky team. We play exceptionally well. Well, that's how I see it anyway.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

we're definitely still a chance. we should beat geelong as i believe they're still suspect up forward. nathan ablett may do alright when things are going their way, but he is not going to have a clue when it comes to closing down our run out of the backs. he just hasn't got the experience. johnson and kingsley can still go missing in a big way when the pressure is on. our midfields are reasonably well matched and we're presenting more target options up forward than the geelongs pinnacle defence has confronted before.

the saints are still lacking that vital ingredient in the ruck division - ruckmen. as long as our long drinks of water can get the ball cleanly to our men more often than not we'll be right. if the big men don't fire we might be in trouble as the saints are one of the few teams than can scrap with the best of them (us) for the contested ball.

if we hit the big game without major injury concerns we are likely to be favourites as we'll have knocked off the team to beat in what may well have been a high-scoring match the week before.

lots of ifs there, but there is a plausible path.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

I was just thinking maybe we should start a thread to give our support and best wishes to the team and the cut and paste and send it to the swans. I know the swans would probably recieve hundreds of emails everyday but surely if we had a couple of hundred people showing their support it might be considered worth showing to the players.

Just a thought anyway, what does everyone else think?

                    Good to hear.

Its going to be very hard travelling down to the MCG to play St Kilda, I dont think we can do it, but they have done stranger things.

The question was 'can we' and the answer is damn right we can.
We are especially strong in the forwards, the second meanest defence in the comp, and a midfield that may lack the sheer flair of a Saints or Eagles but can hold anyone and make chances of its own.
Roll on Geelong and then let's see.

As has often been the case recently, Brisbane 2003 provide the blueprint. Can we hire a coolroom for the MCG next week????

The Swans will be out to prove a point against the Cats. It will be a furious opening and with the big home crowd behind the boys I am sure they can bring it home.

St Kilda will have all of Melbourne behind them which could prove a hinderence rather than a help. We can slip in to Melbourne on Thursday to minimal attention.

In saying that, I don't think we should be looking beyond Friday's final.

I think we'll slaughter Geelong, encouraged by 43,000 screaming Swans supporters bitter about last Friday night. I think that our biggest obstacle to the premiership is St Kilda.

Anyone know when that game (prelim v Saints) is likely to be played as I might buy a return ticket this week, so sure am I about victory over the Cats?
