Nick Davis article in the Herald Sun

I read this article on the web page and unfortunately didn't book mark it as I thought someone else would have posted it by now.

It says Nick feels he let Malthouse and the other boys down and felt sorry he let them down etc. he was looking forward to shakinh hands with them on Saturday night etc........

My first reaction was that he shouldn't be playing this Saturday night. Feeling guilty about what happened, he will be a passenger. I am a fan of Davis but this is not what I wanted to read the day before the match.

He says Malthouse was afather figure to him, well Malthouse's attack on Davis' character was pathetic but characteristic of the knuckle draggers coach.

IF I had any hope of a win on Saturday night, we'll be doing it with 21 players. I hope I'm wrong.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

On reading the herald sun article - I believe Davis may be a bit apprehensive in regards tomorrow nights game. Uncertain of how Collingwood players and supporters will react - I believe that is his way or maybe the author's way of saying thanks for being there - but don't believe I left for any other reason than to come to Sydney. Nick is a quiet person - who keeps to himself a lot.
Remember Malthouse is very vicious when he wants to be - and they turned him away.

So give Nick some back up of trying to "watch his back" in his own way.

Good luck to him tomorrow night - keep on getting goals for us and get hungry for the ball.
      Love those Swans

Is it only me that is finding this a bit piss weak.

        There was this as well

And to top it off he gets named on the bench.

I guess we are aware a bit about his character but this is mans game, this day was always going to come, trying to hide from it will not do him any good at all. He's got to confront it head on.

If Nick really wants to show the Magpies the thanks for the years he spent there, then he should go out on the field tonight and show them JUST HOW GOOD HE REALLY IS. There would be no better way for him to thank the CFC than by playing well for the Swans tonight. Only then would the collingwood entourage understand how desperately despondent Nick was being away from home in a strange land.
Only 9 notes? How easy can it be!

He started off the bench last week; it has nothing to do with his character OR Collingwood.

            I hope he kicks a bagfull 2nite.

I don't think he's saying that he wishes he was still at Collingwood... just that he still has 'feelings' for the place, for lack of a better term. That's fine by me... Rantall still loved South when he went to the 'Roos for a flag.... and came back straight away once he got one.

But we'll see how he goes tonight.

Well he went pretty average last night, copped an absolute pasting from the scum pie supporters, only got 5 possys's, and was well beaten. But the main thing is he kicked the sealer, which stuck it right up the pie supporters!

11 was it ? Well i was going by what was said on the sunday footy show with malthouse, anyway the point is he had no influence on the game whatsoever, was well beaten by clement and lonie, they both ran off him at various stages and was killed especially one on one contests. The only influence he had was the sealing goal at the end, which was in the end - invaluable.

Don't feel above was warranted flobbinab.
Nick got the goal that counted and was more involved upfield last Saturday.
Maybe look at his contribution as part of a team. I realise he has a lot to do but if he keeps getting goals he kicks for - why complain and comment as above.

Apparently only one solitary CWood player shook Davis' hand after the game, the one who was playing on him at the siren (I've forgotten who it was exactly).

That's just indicitive of what a pack of scumbags the CWood team is. I mean really, he's there playing for them for four years, making friends and kicking goals, and only one of them bothers to acknowledge that at the end.

If Nick had any regrets about his 'friends' and 'father figure' before, they should have evaporated after that slight.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

I saw Lonie did - they seemed to have a friendly chat. Nick seemed a bit uncomfortable at the end and seemed to be waiting for others to speak to him. I felt sorry for him. Collingwood pricks!!

At least the Swans players gave him support - they were very supportive of each other as a team the other night.
I was mindful of how they would treat him - I mean he hasn't done a "Carey" so no need for agro - he played well enough to show us he has goods we need. Collingwood will never wake up to how much most people hate them - especially dear eddie - and was fab to see him walk off the other night - and especially also for Malthouse - hope he counted the worms - creep

At the time I felt it was warranted. However with the lovely rose coloured glasses on after the win I now wonder if this may in fact been part of the mind games.

Davis started in the middle as I remember it and was never going to back away from anything. Kudos to him for that, and I won't mind eating some pie (or is that 'Pies ) for my comments.
