We are going to SLAUGHTER geelong...lets be HONEST!

I just read an article on the swans website, and offcourse we have to listen to the same token responses given by footy players and coaches. No matter who we play Paul Roos and the players have to come up with the same regurgitated crap "they are a real quality side...we're expecting a tough contest"...How about a bit of honesty around here?

For instance, in Round 22 against Hawthorn they were doing they same thing. Talking about what a great side Hawthorn are and how much they would want to win...YEH RIGHT! And lose a top 6 draft pick!

I wish for once someone could come out and say "we are very confident of a victory this week"...atleast make things a bit interesting.

"take it one week at a time"...well there is another Cliche, Token response. There is NO chance of us losing to Geelong. They are a weak side with no forward line, too young, too inexperienced, too inconsistent. There is no way they will beat us

            You seriously think that...?

In all seriousness, that wouldn't be a great idea. Just ask our cricketers whether they think that making bold predictions are a good idea.

It may make things interesting but it also gives the opposition a reason to attack us that little bit harder.

Overall, I'm happy with the cliches.

We definitely deserve to be favourites but to say we should thrash them is just plain silly. It will be a tough game, their midfielders aren't afraid to get in and under as well. Add to that their two quality defenders in Scarlett and Harley and it won't be an easy task to score against them. It should be another tight, low-scoring affair.

Should win, but rarely do we blow sides away...got to leave them a chance to make things interesting (sarcasim intended)

Swans a cert. I am betting enough to earn the $10,000 I will need after the GF.

As long as we put in 110%, and have a good team effort, with all 22 players contributing...

Yeh i think i have heard that one...oh...about EVERY SINGLE WEEK for the last few years. How about those cliche "yeh nah it was a good effort from the boys" interviews they give after the games? Thats why i like Akermanis...he's not afraid to be honest, even if he does come across as arrogant sometimes.

geelong will be no pushover at all. finals footy is totally different and last time we played them they were missing half of their starting lineup. they had a confidence boosting win last week whilst we had a heartbreaking loss.

i'm always confident that we can win and we are expected to this week however i dont think we will "slaughter" them, even though i wont mind if the game is over by half time. i think all us swans supporters would love to give the ticker a rest this week

The Swans deserve and should win because they finished 3rd on the ladder. I know finals are different from H&A season, but I still believe they have the capacity to win if they want it of course. But word of caution though, the Cats are not going to be an easy target, so I predict a close finish in our favour.
