Should be a nice mild night, just hoping the showers and storms stay away for the evening and then return on Saturday morning about 1:00am.

On the radio yesterday morning (ABC 774 - Melbourne), the weather forecaster stated that the weather system that's heading towards Melbourne has proven unusually difficult to model, thus the forecast for the weekend weather in Melbourne changed a fair bit from Monday to Tuesday. If this same system is also heading for Sydney, this explains why the weather forecast has changed.

In geography I learned that Sydney was warm temperate bordering on sub-tropical so we should expect more rain in summer.

"Rainfall is greater than many other Australian cities with nearly 50 inches in an average year. The peak rainfall is in the November to May period (summer and fall). The average frequency of measurable rainfall ranges from one rainfall event every 3 days in August to 1 event every 2 days in the summer and fall."

Huh? Weather in Sydney measurable and predictable? Not in my 27 years of Sydney experience - unless these stats have been averaged over a few hundred years.

Keep in mind that rain played a factor in the last three Sydney- based finals. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a factor again.

Did it rain in the 03 PF?
I remember it being wet in the 2 finals in 98.

Got me there. How can I forget the 2003 PF? I meant the two '98 finals and last years Final at TS. Make that 3 out of 4.

No i didn't rain in 03 but it bucketed down last year vs West Coast and St KIlda. First game we trounced the Eagles, second game we got smashed by Saints.

I'd be praying for clear skies this week and next week if we make it through.
