    Interesting...

"Roos says he was almost underestimated when he first came to the club in 2003 and rates him equal to the toughest when it comes to contested ball. "
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

Another article on Davis from the SMH.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

"He is considered one of the most accurate shots in the league. He proved it yesterday during a kicking competition at training - despite catcalls of "Colonel" (his nickname) and "two for one" from his less sensitive team-mate"

        LOL!

Davis has had an impressive year, kicking 30 goals - 10 in the past three games.
33 goals- 12 from the past 3. I wonder which ones don't count? He is 3 goals off kicking his career best season tally (36 in 21 games in 2001). 33 is his best season tally for the Swans (2003).

vandalising extraordinarily expensive boots (the style is not yet on the market).
I bet the manafacturer loves that!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

If the articles mentioned the brand - I'm sure they wouldn't mind in the slightest!

I don't know, they probably love a sharp shooter wearing their boots but don't like the idea that the sharp shooter finds them uncomfortable!

It mentions their price in another Melbourne paper - $700.

I didn't know he found them uncomfortable - I took the comments in the SMH article to mean he has cut the tongues off other pairs of boots, and because that worked, he would do it again.

something was mentioned somewhere it was not for comfort but to increase the contact or "feel" of the ball on his foot.

so effectively it's just the laces between his foot and the ball?
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

I meant to say that the sharp shooter doesn't think that they feel right.

He can't feel his ball when his tongue is out.

By removing the tongue it sounds as if Nick is taking his first tentative steps to becoming the first barefoot player in the comp.
