    Delayed TV coverage in Sydney

Can some please tell me why coverage of this Friday's match is on delay in Sydney only? Seeing as there was only 5,000 tix left yesterday afternoon, the match is as good as sold out yet the coverage on TV is delayed still? Also Saturday's Game is delayed by 2hrs in Sydney too, making way for a 100th repeat of the movie Matilda!

    Semi-final preview: Sydney v Geelong

Yeah its very strange. The game starts at 8pm, so the "delay" (seeing as the telecast actually starts at the same time) will be all of the fluff before the game intro.

What critical night time show must be shown at 7.30pm?? A rerun of the Simpsons. Weird.

They won't announce live coverage until all tickets are sold today. Standard practice will also mean they may wait until Thursday night to confirm so the SCG members organise themselves to turn up thinking that it is not live. Will want to make sure they eck out every last seat so they are filled to capacity.

If the final 5,000 tickets go today it will be live don't worry.

Could you seriously sit through that knowing the boys are running onto the ground at that exact same time??

I did it a few times this year on Saturday night, but I would then get impatient and flick on the radio to see how the quarter would end.

Well if it was in Melbourne, I would be pacing around the apartment wearing out the carpet.

i can never watch a delayed telecast without having a listen on the radio, i wish i had the willpower to enjoy the game as if it were live.

So there'll be 3 radio stations broadcasting the game? NewsRadio, 2UE and Triple M?

I wonder what Sydney will make of Rex Hunt and his team. It's weird to see 2UE coming on board at this late stage, especially given that it's not like half of the AM band, plus MMM, aren't calling the game.

                              Strange...
