I wish I could get over it. I am still so angry. I've had little appetite all week and if anything reminds me of it I feel sick. Seeing McInerney on the sports section yesterday putting tape over his mouth and joking about it further angered me. He thinks it was a joke. The umpires boss admits it was a mistake so it's OK. All forgotten. Season over. A year's work down the drain and another 70 years to wait. I hope the club copes better than I am.
In a poll of more than 2100 readers of Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper, 79per cent believe McInerney's decision robbed the Swans of victory.
That treatment has Sydney fired up before their cut-throat final against Geelong, according to coach Paul Roos.
"There's nothing wrong with being disappointed and angry and we have to come out and play angry tomorrow night," Roos said.
"That seems to be the theme. The guys are pretty keen to get back out. They are pretty angry and they are ready to go, so we are looking forward to it."
PAUL Roos wants Sydney to unleash the full force of its anger on Geelong in tomorrow night's sudden-death semi-final at the SCG.
. . .
Roos knows they can't turn back the clock but the attitude he and his players have adopted is a clear sign Sydney's anguish has turned to anger, its despair and disappointment replaced by steely determination.
"The feeling in the camp is that there's nothing we can do about last Friday night," Roos said. "There's nothing wrong with being disappointed and angry but we have to come out and play angry tomorrow night. That seems to be the theme."
