    Swan defender responds to SOS

I know it has been discussed here before but here is another article on my favourite player.

    Swan defender responds to SOS
Silvagni works with Roberts-Thomson on his starting position in a one-on-one contest, and has tried to coax him out of the habit of ball-watching, a dangerous pursuit for a defender since he can "lose" his man.

The Carlton legend likes what he sees. "He hasn't played a lot of footy and that's the remarkable thing. He's a good size, he's very athletic and he's competitive, which is what makes it easier for me. He gives his all every time.

And LRT was really good and needed no help...
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

The trick is to watch your man while having eyes only for the ball so you don't give away the free. LRT succeeds because of the fringe. Hmm, maybe there's a book in "Hairstyling for Premiership Success"?

I know the 'trick' and it was such an obvious weakness of LRT's earlier in the season... oh wait... he had no weaknesses...

Oh, give it a break Bloods!
It was interesting to note that the suggestion to get SOS in, came from Ross Lyon rather than the assistant 'responsible' for the defenders ~ I think teamwork amongst the coaching staff is as heatening a it is amongest the players.

The ball watching thing was particularly dangerous for LRT earlier in the year because he tended to run after it like an under 12 or an over-enthusiastic puppy.

Whatever. The most pleasing thing is that we have unearthed a decent CHB who could hold that position for the next 6-8 years at least. One long-term problem solved. Next please .

A tall forward capable of pack/overhead marks, a full back over 6ft3 in height, an outside midfielder with express speed and beautifull disposal . . . . . . we need all these things and yet we almost beat West Coast in Subiaco, GO SWANNIES!
