    How to beat Swans
    SIX KEYS

    BARRY HALL

HIS leadership and presence out on the ground is a key for the Swans. Everyone looks up to him and if he fires the rest of the team lifts.

    PAUL WILLIAMS

HE HASN'T been playing to his best but Paul Roos should put him in the centre and just let him play.

He can break a game open with his pace and Geelong doesn't really have a good match-up for him.

    LEO BARRY

I WOULD move him out to centre half-back and let him play the way he used to, with a licence to run off and create. The Swans' defensive rebound is the key to their game plan.

    STEVEN KING

Sydney have been worried in the past about the Cats' skipper's ability to win the ball in ruck contests.

On his day he is as good as any ruckman going around and will be vital tomorrow night in giving his midfielders first use of the ball. Needs to mix-up hit areas and get the ball to the outside, to quicker players, so the Cats can try to run the Swans off their legs.

    GARY ABLETT

JARED Crouch has got him a few times so would be determined to bounce back. I would play him more in the midfield ? while he's not the fittest player going around, he is one of the best in tight. SCG should suit him.

    MATTHEW SCARLETT

SYDNEY will try to drag him up the ground and pull the Cats' defence apart.

Scarlett has to stay at full-back because he is the one that holds the defence together. If Geelong allows Hall to get up the ground with him it exposes Sanderson, Harley or Milburn on O'Loughlin.

Yeah I think he may be on a counter-sabotage mission for Roos. He is actually on our staffing panel.

FFS these are EXACTLY the tactics Brisbane tried at TS in Round 20! They flooded, they moved Mal Michael off Hall, they tried to keep hall 30m+ out, they tried to frustrate him...

The result was an 84 point hiding. Oops.

To be honest, I'd prefer it if he served his assistant coaching apprenticeship with as many different clubs/coaches as possible - that way he will be of immense value when he finally "comes home" to the Swans You need external opinions and ideas.

Of course, if he cares to do a little light sabotage work on our behalf when the team he is working for comes up against us... I would not think it amiss AT ALL

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Wow, the two Swans who made the AA team are important and so is the ruck contest. I feel like someone just pulled our pants down.

                It's not Sabotage.

It can't be sabotage for he has let the whole world - Including the Swans - know what his tactics would be against us. It would be sabotage though if he went behind our backs to contact Geelong with his real game plan that wasn't broadcast in a major Newspaper.

Hope to see you back in acouple of years Cressa!!!

It IS sabotage if he knows that his tactic would be an abysmal failure

Don't be silly. Cressa is red and white at heart. He more than proved that over the years.

                    He'll be back one day.

Now we've seen him work his coaching "magic" elsewhere, I am not so sure.

That's what Ron Barassi said until he moved back to Melbourne.

They played almost exactly as Cressa suggested -- and nearly ended our season as a result.

I'd expect St Kilda to be looking pretty closely at his gameplan now, seeing as it worked so well.

I am (or was) a huge Cressa fan. But after this I gotta wonder what the @#$% his problem is?
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

$ It is not about mateship, loyalty, or a love for the club. It is about dollars. It is professional sport. We, the fans, display those qualities, but players, and former players, are trying to earn a buck. There would be very few players that have the same love, passion or commitment to a club that even the most fair weather of fans have. Good luck to him, he has kids to feed.

I totally agree, but I didn't laugh so don't pat yourself on the back.

If you want proof of how important this club is/was to Cressa just dig out the picture of him after the 2003 QF. Players that move into the media/coaching are always going to have to comment on/coach against their former teams.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
