83 tackles is a clue. There was NEVER five seconds when a Swan had uncontested possession. We're just fortunate that you can't maintain that intensity for 4 quarters.

Pressure is finals football - you can't say it's not the players' fault because the other team was too intense.

I'm certainly not saying the Swans didn't screw up. But I'm not convinced any other team left in the finals would have done any better against the Cats last night. Next week will be a different game.

Well lucky Geelong were just as bad as us with ball in hand last night. Their defensive pressure was great, but that was it. Both teams were shocking, and the game was shocking for the most part.

Hang on ... There are team rules, game plans ... How many times have we heard coaches in the past (any team) curse a player for not towing the "game plan" line ???

I am still blaming Roos for NOT changing the "game plan" when we were obviously bogged down for 3 and 3 quarter quarters (and don't get me on that grammatically ... )

I agree - I said somewhere else that Roos didn't seem to react at all (from what we could see). However, it's up to the players to keep their feet, grab the ball cleanly, hit targets, use some intelligence.

In his post-match press conference, Roos spoke about how that was one of the most intensely tactical matches he has coached.

In games like that where all players are making handling errors due to pressure, conditions and fatigue, it is probably hard to spot the tactical work that is going on.

I'm still trying to figure out what "semifinal positives" are. Are they like subliminal messages?

The only positive that I can think of is that the boys won't be celebrating Mad Monday this Monday

One poster on here mentioned the ground.

Wet, dewy type grounds just don't agree with us . I hate night footy for that reason. Most times the skills are down.

Goodes cannot take marks or take clean possessions, Hall really struggles in these conditions as does MOL, ROK is a dunce in them, our handball suffers badly as does our running game without clean skills. The one time in the game when we got it clean ROK found Davis in front.

Jude had been awful the past 2 weeks except the last Q yesterday.

It is no coincidence that our last 2 games have been in similar conditions and our scoring suffered. As in the Adelaide game. Yes, both sides have to adapt to the conditions, but we seem to suffer more. The only ground that doesn't seem to suffer is the Dome and we play well there most times.

Lets hope it's a balmy Friday night in Melbourne.

I agree with Nico - the night conditions ruin the skills

ALL FINALS should and must be palyed during the day - stuff the TV broadcasts - there are two channels FTA plus replays...

Why aren't Buchannon or Schneider under the feet of Barry and MOL? They are small forwards who should feast on the pickings..

Schneider is not there cause it's too hard.

I dunno...he seemed to be pretty good at it in 2003...give him a go, I reckon. His goal sense is still there, just look at Round 17 against the Weagles.

                                Firstly, here's the biggest negative:
                                NO VOGELS!

Secondly, why does everyone start calling for Roosy's head? I had a total tool sitting next to me who started the anti-Roos sentiments in the first goddamn quarter! I thought it was actually up to the boys to play the footy...

The conditions last night for the boys were attrocious. Ball skills from both sides were horrendous. Yet, IMHO, it was our penchant for behinds that let us down.

And thirdly, I have never been so emotionally and physically exhausted after a game of footy E V E R!

And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
