Hudos always been my favourite commentator, great call considering the circumstances. I couldn't imagine calling a swans loss like that.

Yes Scotty, I can imagine what a great commentator you would be, writing the swans off every time they went two goals down.

        Huddo

I want to give a huge rap to Anthony Hudson

What a fantastic call of the game.

You would never in a million years know he was a die hard lifelong Geelong nut.

        Absolutely sensational.

Watched the game after work (2.00 am) and as the last quarter unfolded I felt so sorry for him doing such a brillinant job under the circumstances.

Someone should play a recording of the last five minutes to Eddie just so that Eddie never, ever again suggests that he is a balanced commentator.

I'm in awe, quite frankly, to be honest and at the end of the day.

I cannot believe this thread was already there...not in a million years...with exactly the same title.

          I am a disgrace!

Thanks for that . . . very interesting.

Apart from Lane and Campbell, I don't think I'd have picked any of them

Although when you think about it there is a bit of symmetry between Quarter of a man and Hawthorn

I was walking away from a game against Melbourne at the MCG a few years ago and I turned to the man walking beside me as he seemed familiar, and asked,"Are you Jim Main?" He replied in the negative and said he was Mike Sheahan. We talked superficially about the game and he thought I was from Sydney and therefore wasn't offended that I didn't recognise him. He said quite categorically that he was a diehard Melbourne supporter so that article didn't quite have him assessed correctly.

I agree that Huddo did a good job and was professional but isn't that what we should expect, and network executives should demand, from all commentators?? Making excuses for ex-players and, even worse, for journos and other footy media types because they support a particular tean just doesn't hold water for mine. Either do the job without bias or don't do it.

You could replace all references of commentators to umpires in that post, and it'd still make complete sense!

I never said I would be a great commentator.

And I never right them off when they are two goals down. I always have hope that they will comeback.

I said to the wifey, Huddo's call was exceptional given his alegences. He loves the Cats and yet he called it like was willing a fairy tale for Sydney.

                          Great stuff Huddo.
