    ROK - Trade Bait

Spunkrat, apparently a luvly fella, can play.

Unfortunately, can't play finals (or finals-like) footy. 4 strikes & his out in my book.

Would make an excellent swap for late 1st or early 2nd round draft pick a la Jolly.

Are you trying to commit RWO suicide? The wrath of Bon Bon is a terrible thing to watch. Quick hide.

I'm aware that I won't be invited to any RWO weddings or bar mitzvahs as a result (the "spunkrat" reference was my attempt at appeasement). Nevertheless, I do think it would be best for the club...

It's true that he's our only really logical trade bait (with any significant value), but he's worth more than late 1st round.
In terms of a single pick, IMO he'd be in the 4 to 7 range.

But why would we want to trade him?
We're in a preliminary final--somewhere near 12 on the premiership clock --so unless it's part of a deal to secure a KPP backman or star midfielder, he ain't going nowhere.

IMO we won't do anything much in trade week.

Let's if he can finally perform in a final next week. However, if we could swap him for a very good key position defender or gun midfielder, I'd suggest we do it!

We should leave all the trade talks until the fat lady sings, folks. While we are still in it, there is no point to gain with trade talks.

It's funny. You stay away from RWO for a while. Log in again .. and the same inane threads appear.

              Yeah right ... trade ROK.

There's absolutely nothing to gain out of trading for picks this year. As NMW says, however, if sacrificing ROK could fill one of the remaining holes, then it's a price I'm willing to pay.

Yeah ok lets talk about players being MIA in the finals.

B Hall!!!!!! ?????????????????????????????????? where has he been?

Why would we trade someone who was an integral part of getting us there?

You can't play finals football if you don't make it to start with.

You happy with 29 goals 32 from a key forward, Bam Bam?

I'm certainly not. Especially considering that the vast majority of those 32 behinds are either a) stupid, irresponsible, selfish snaps that weren't necessary or b) lazy, careless set-shot shockers that he should be getting in his sleep.

I'm aware that O'Keefe is a very, very good player... but you are over-estimating his contribution for the year.

I reckon if this thread goes to 4 pages or more he will win the Brownlow next year.

Anyone remember the dills who had Goodesy up for trade?

If yuou are looking for a clear out and possible trade baits

Schneider - has lost it - should kick the important goals but just hasn't shown anything

Bevan - Adrenalin goes only so far talent takes you the rest

ROK stood up through the game and gave us a presence.

Yeah sure, and you can add Fosdike, Saddington and Mathews, but the problem is that none of them are worth anything.

Quite so - thats my point. ROK is not a bad footballer & I'm sure he'd generate real interest. I just think he's superfluous to our requirements and now has a record in critical games that suggests he just can't handle finals pressure.

Yes, of course we should be waiting after the season to have this discussion - I just really had to get off my chest coz I can't deal with a specialist forward who is no better than a 50/50 chance of kicking goals at critical points of critical games.

I would not be happy with that return if his arse was parked in the forward 50 all season, which it hasn't been even though he is labelled as being a key forward (not your fault you don't see as many games live - not sniping there either).

Perhaps if some of those selfish lazy snaps were goals we'd be lauding him a hero, or perhaps if the rest of the forwards were in better positions or not double teamed he would not feel the need to blaze away.

He's kicked off to another player more this year than he has in the past. Trust me I watch his game closely (and not for the reasons you think), I love it when he loads up and tries to kick them.

We have an extremely potent forward line with not enough tall players. However we have an abundance of short midfield type players. Why not try and off load one of them with talent or potential instead of a player who IMO has been integral to the team?
