    History against Crows, Swans

    History against Crows, Swans
Since the final eight system began in 1994, 17 of the 22 preliminary finals have been won by the teams that enjoyed the week off as St Kilda and West Coast have done this year.
Last week we almost created history by being elimnated, against the trend.

This week we NEED to create history, to stay in the race.

2003 the Lions finished third, lost their QF, won a semi and then travelled interstate and won a PF.

I know our team doesn't have the hardened finals experience that the Lions had back then but there is recent precedent.

I wonder if we'll get lucky like the Lions and face a team that folds when they have the PF in their grasp...
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

As I said elsewhere, when it comes to football history is bunk.
          Form and injuries are everything.
Our form is patchy, especially from two or three who really need to fire.
The injury count looks as if it might favour us atm, but I wouldn't put too much trust in media speculation.
I'm even more nervous than I was last week!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

And you know what, the Saints are the sort of team (and club) who might just do that, despite all their talent.
