I just bought my tickets. This is the year that the curse is lifted. If the Red Sox can do it, so can we.

In all my life, have never seen us win A finals game.

I have a shocking finals win/attendance record.

Come to think of it, many Victorian based supporters would have very similar win/attendance records, unless they travelled in the successful finals campaigns of 96, 98 and 03.


70 first semi final = loss
77 elimination final = loss
86 qualifying = loss
86 semi = loss
87 qualifying = loss
87 semi = loss
96 Grand Final = loss
97 qualifying = loss
99 Elimination = loss
2001 Elimination = loss
2003 Prelim = loss
2004 First semi = loss
2005 Prelim = ?????????

That is a 0 from 12 starts record. Not even Matty Hayden's record is that bad.

The only finals we have won in my lifetime, I wasn't there. I've even taken to not watching on TV these days for fear that the curse will somehow find its way through the TV airwaves.

I'd take them if I could go - my only Swans game in Melbourne was in Round 19 against Essendon this year! For the good of the team....

The Port Adelaide final in 2003 is the only one I've been at that we've one. Saw the losses to Adelaide and Brisbane in Sydney. Unfortunately missed the '96 prelim due to a broken leg.

Des is not a jinx for games played in Sydney. His jinx is even doubtful for games played at the G. But someone needs to take out a restraining order on behalf of the Swans stating he is not allowed within 500kms of the Telstra Dome when the Swans are playing there.

I have seen most of these losses but also a number of great wins. If you have never seen a win I think you should make to ultimate sacrifice and not go unless you can prove you have shaken this curse.
