They have this obsession with calling it a 'pub' during the day, then making it into a goddamn nightclub as soon as the sun sets. $9 for a Vodka and Justin Timberlake belting out one of his so called tunes is not my idea of a quiet drink and a sombre chat.

So can any Melbournites prepare me with the name of a pub that is a real pub in the good, ol' fashioned Sydney sense within 30mins walk from the G? Just in case?

It may be cold, but we Sydney folk are outdoorsy types. Nothing beats a pub, a cold bevoir and a good band. Will be back for the Spring carnival, and will hold you to your word, Cressa.
